| Quote: HXSparky "As a player you're right, but as a leader on and off the field you'll find him hard to beat. What we need is a playmaker to take his place on the field, but make sure that he has a position in the coaching staff going forward as he's (imo) unrivalled in his ability to gel a team. We keep on hearing about the fantastic team spirit that Fax have, and where do you think that comes from?
From a recruitment perspective, we miss someone like Martin Hall. He's an unsung hero from the time that we had Penky, Gleeson, Beswick and others on board. Without him, we'd never have managed to get players of their calibre on board.'"
What the drighlington dynamo lacks in skill and speed,he is a legend at hkr as well,110% every game and worth his weight as a leader and inspiration and a top bloke as well.

| Sorry but it's a Rooney-esque scenario for me with Muzza. At what point do you say ok time to move on, on the pitch at least.

| Nah, there's another year left in Murrell. Problem is everything good has to go through him, and that says more about those around him than Murrell himself. He could move to a more of a Grix-type role if someone else could take the strain at half-back.
Be interesting to see how Connor Robinson gets on against us next year.

It will, but we wanted to keep Connor as i understand it.
It was Connor who wanted away due to time away from his new job travelling to training in Halifax.

Salford are a great example of how taking the strain off a player can improve him. Look at how much Lui has improved since they brought Hastings in. I am probably in the Murrell's had his day camp, but if we are sticking with him at least get him some help.

| Being the first to pat players on the back after a mistake or doing something good does not warrant a place alone. Yes he has his moments and you can't knock his brain but essentially in defence you are a man down and also in attack as he is not quick enough to follow play. It's almost like the clubs scared to try something new. When we played Toronto the only difference were both halfbacks got on the end of breaks and things. Creating a 2nd phase attack. Murrell once he's passed a ball is simply too slow and not fit enough to do this, which essentially is what a half back should do. A few 40/20's here and there and sublime passes does not make up for this.
If only scoring 2 tries in 3 games (2 of those games against same division teams) does not tell you its time for a change at halfback then nothing will.

Black Backgrounds/Animal.gif My Humble Opinion Only - let the knockers begin.

| I cant understand why Fax can t attract players, the best part time team in the Championship, great team spirit and work ethic, a loyal if diminutive base of supporters.
A forward looking BoD and a young coach who is proving his worth.
Are Halifax such Pariahs, did the fat controller put a hex on us?

Money talks and Fax haven`t as much as some others have had. It`s a job and like most employees they tend to follow the money.
If a part time player in the championship stands out then SL clubs come sniffing a la Hankinson from Swinton who i thought would improve us.

| Marshall quoted as saying in this weeks League Express that "the club is being contacted by a host of players every week." Interesting to see who you end up with. Shaun Robinson the one that seems to be most touted as a Fax possibility from Fev, makes really good contributions with his runs from dummy half.

I wouldn’t say it’s an an inability to attract players. More like there just isn’t enough of the required quality available. 3/4 clubs are fighting over the same players. The other option is to get someone to switch from full to part time but they would need another job to make up for the shortfall in wages. People keep bleating about switching to full time but that is not an option with the money available.

| Don't want to switch to full time anyway. Only way you can afford it is if you have sub standard players who won't cost much to go full time. Rather have better players part time then poorer players full time. Look at Sheffield other year, full time but quality of players was poor and they suffered as a result.

| Murrell is your best player, leads by example and brings the team together.
I find it quite staggering that you'd want to get rid of him.
You'll struggle to replace him.
