It's not imagination though that anyone who has been watching this team can see where the problems are. The deal with Cas was to allow different players with different skills to be available who we couldn't afford because of the debt from particularly the 2015/16 season.keeping the reserves gives another option. So if you have a problem but you don't try and do anything to fix it completely baffles me. What do you say for the Leigh match ......well they played well against Rochdale and we scored some good try's but we can't seem to do it against Leigh. (Fev, Toronto and London) just how many try's did we score in last years 8s? That's what the entire close season should have been about.

Agreed RM seems to be stuck in a mold and the fact is we consistently fail to offer sufficient threat to score as a team.
However if he was to bring in a half from Cas others would complain about the DR system again.
He may well try BJ and JWH at 7 and 6 this week with Muzza on the bench and rest Ben Kaye with Murrel cover for 6,7,9 and even 13.
He may well give Heaton a run this week and leave Clare out.
Who knows, but bottom line is he’s the head coach and with input from Martin Gonzales, Grix and Muzza you would have thought he was in a better position than any of us to know.
Maybe he’s not good enough, maybe the players aren’t good enough, maybe we are being out coached and out played and we are only as good as a club as the results suggest.

I have been to all the games this year and most last year and i agree we do have a problem with attack but why do we always put negative comments about team selection and even player like muzza that put 100% into every game. If marshall wasnt a good coach why would we of made the top 4 2 out of 3 seasons. Get behind the lads and marshall i am sure if he had the budget to bring in other players he would but in reality he hasnt so DR and the reserve grade is what he has.

I believe the negative comments on team selection are based on a couple of things which both involve team selection.
1. The use of DR in the team, some hate it with a passion and mention it in thread after thread regardless of the theme.
2. The lack of threat in attack is because the same halves are being selected with no improvement over a sustained period of time, because it seems so obvious from the terraces some think it should have been addressed by now and are wondering why it hasn’t.

These are all people who are getting behind the team and must be going to the games which they base an opinion on.
Past top 4 achievements or 100% efforts aren’t being under appreciated or questioned, rather it’s current players ability and future achievements that is the concern because we all know the potential consequences if we slip down the table.

Where I come from is to try and encourage change . Use what is available from wherever. If we don't break the mould you get exactly what you always got.

The best example I can think of where we missed an opportunity was Rawsthorne. He should have been playing first team months before Hull spotted him as a non contracted player at one reserve outing. Our loss shown in 40 yds of pace last week. Who was going to catch him? If they spotted him why hadn't we used him?

I am trying to push us into change before it's too late and despite all the commitment in the world we just accept our lot. But I still will be there in the cold shouting and encouraging this afternoon.

I do agree that we lack "sparkle" where it matters most, but fixing that isn't an easy task.
