Yes good luck to him, shame about his last year and a bit, maybe his biscuit knees just couldn't take anymore. Ill try remember the Luke we got rather the one we finished with.
Not sure if we should regret the failure of Luke to reach what could have been international level based on what we saw in 2012/13 time or celebrate the fact that a young man has developed something very positive for the long term outside the game.
As its a rugby forum and we're fans of Halifax RLFC I think we should congratulate whoever spoke to Luke and said 'Are you still committed to Rugby League'
I'm very happy for him if he has found a calling in life, and im also very happy we can save a few quid and now give someone else a chance to be a professional Rugby Player.
I very much doubt its work that's caused Luke's weight to balloon. It looks more like he's fallen out of love with RL. At only 27 I hope he doesn't regret this, your only young once as they say, maybe these events hit him harder than we think.
Maybe becoming a paid RL player was enough for him, and he felt no need to push further, only he knows, but its best for all concerned that both parties move on.
