Ref and linesman poor and in a low scoring game is crucial. But we were poor at dummy half. Big difference after last few weeks. Tangata is is not a second rower and we missed his impact off the bench especially with calahane being injured. And need need another half back. Johnno not up to it, wasn't any better last week but we go away with it then.

I'm not one to blame a ref (normally ) but he lost us the game. Terrible, terrible reffing. I sit near the corner where 'that' was. I did not see the ball grounded at all. Also, when the try was given it was right in the corner. When the conversion was taken is was about 1 meter in form the side line! Just one grumble of many today. It's a game I felt we should have won

Cannot blame the ref. Marshall, or his superiors are to blame for not providing a best 17 available. See Leeds played the Fev dual reg players, then Fev lose at home. RESULTS BASED. The diehards will turn up, with or without dual-reg. It needs utilising if we are to get anywhere above Dewsbury, Sheffield and Bradford.
In fact, Bradford will probably end up keeping us in this division for this season, at least.

Kaye, superb defensively, shocking moving his troops forward.

These are the games we need to win. Toulouse have been smashed in every away game this season.

Our lack of recruitment in the off season is already showing. The players we signed ended up bailing and not being replaced. We can't expect to compete by not adding to the squad that ended last season so pitifully.

Let's not be too proud to use loans and DR - much as I hate DR - before the season becomes a relegation battle every week

Charlie was there today, and some will blame me tipping Fax for a win as the reason Fax lost. Here is my neutral verdict on the game, the Ref wasn't to blame ,BOTH Toulouse tries were debatable, could have gone either way, I didn't think the Toulouse player got to the ball for the first one , but the Touch Judge did which is why after a consultation with him the Ref gave it a try, for Toulouse second try it was possible any one of 3 passes were forward ,again the same touch judge said it was a try,and he was very close to both .
All in all I enjoyed the game , but the conditions didn't help, both teams did their best, agree about Calahane being missed, but I think Toulouse just edged it in deserving a win.
This is an unbiased view, I did enjoy the game, it was 2 points lost, no Hudd Shay, one thing I noticed, about the crowd was very very few Youngsters at the game, cmon Fax you should be doing everything possible to get them through the gates. With London at the Shay next week it will probably be another defeat for Fax, I will top London to try and help.Charlie once again knows ball all. icon_thumb.gif

No. The level playing field has to be dual-reg, utilized ruthlessly, or we will get left behind.

We have a reserve team for the "not good enoughs".

£17 to £20 to watch an amateur end of pier show? Come on directors. The club is dying.

Can't fault the effort today, the Toulouse reaction to the final hooter said it all, they grabbed two points where the spoils would have probably been more justly shared if effort was rewarded instead of tries and goals.

Adam went well, Boyle too, Sharp looks our number one. The lads put in a huge defensive effort and deserve a large orange for their efforts.

On a more ruthless and honest note though, Scott Murrell looked a couple of yards off the pace, and Johnnos late decision to scoot and fling out a silly off load cost us a match winning position. It's an obvious thing to say but if O'Brien had been fit I think we would have won today, and I think he would have been smart enough to leave the hollywood stuff for another day, and would have set up a drop goal attempt.

I cant lambast people for doing their best and trying, but we are very much lacking guile in the halves and hooking positions. We just need one class halve or hooker for me, a Penky, O'Brien, I'd even settle for a Holroyd, someone who can take charge and make a difference.

Having said that, when Rob, Grady and Brandon Moore come back I think we'll have a bit more threat, and that may paper over a few cracks, we can still sneak in the top 4, but we might have to start nicking wins against London and Featherstone to do that now, and we have to start turning close games into wins, get over the line, win ugly as thy say.

Today was a darn sight better than mount pleasant, they are showing fight and team spirit, that's all we can ask, for now.

I gather the Toulouse player did get a finger to the ball, whether it was downward pressure or a glance I have no idea, but if he did get downward pressure then Gerard Depardeiu need not be concerned that France has a new acting sensation. If he didn't then I would expect to see him at the Cannes film festival for a superb portrayal of someone celebrating scoring a try.

Top 4? Are you having a laugh?
Watched Fax 30 years home and away.
Dewsbury and Sheffield are worse.
Bradford minus 12 will keep us in the league.
We are that bad. All down to money.

There is none, and the best talent can bugger off for nowt, like Rawsthorne.

Toulouse looked a more organised attacking outfit, but to me they were out on their feet and only managed one big set set in the final 20 mins, I'd say a draw would have been a fair result. Agree re the ref, he gave us a few penalties on players advice, and he got the Boyle incident spot on, well done Ryan for taking a slap and stepping away.

As for the juniors, a skint club, awful weather, an inconsient side, Super Sundays and hamburgers like place mats, I cant blame em for staying in and playing GTA, Call of Duty and Minecraft now and then. Plus if they haven't got parents who can buy season tickets they are unlikely to want to lose their pocket money watching average 1970's rugby.

What I did notice about today's games was the effort and enthusiasm of Ben Kaye he ia a human dynamo, after every tackle and Toulouse forced error he was trying to lift the team ,and even encouraging the crowd to get behind the Fax lads, for me Murrell is past it,both Fax halves failed to create anything, but the conditions were terrible.I stand by my 7th place prediction.

Well I've watched fax for over 30 years too lol and we've been worse, top four is a push, but aside from both Rovers and London there are a lot of average sides this season that will be nicking points of each other one week and capitulating the next, someone will sneak in, probably Batley, but this is possibly our most important season in a decade, so ill remain positive and hope they can over achieve.

The crowd plays a part as well
that season we made the 4, the fans helped the team step up an extra gear imo (like chanting even when the opposition scored)

Sadly that has dropped off due to us not making the 4 last season
