Can't wait.
O' h before they start, it will be OUR team.
Well said HJ. I can't wait for season to start. See you at Hull KR. Supporting fax. That's the team in blue n white hoops

| Quote: The Lucky Black Cat "And People wonder why our game is struggling! You cant really plan anything, as nobody really knows whats Happening, when and where. Its this clueless leadership that has seen our game drift along aimlessly to this joke of a System. I wonder how Long this System will last as the RFL seem to not be able to last more than a couple of years without thoughtlessly changing things with more spin coming from Big Nige saying "this is a new era and the games never been better" etc. For all the faults and mistakes that our Club has made over the years, its the RFL and its poor leadership that is killing my interest in the Pro game in the UK. At the Moment I have Little interest in the coming season, as it is just a RFLspin System that has no thoughts about what it actually hopes to achieve and I cant see it doing Fax or other Clubs like Fev, Sheffield, Leigh much good at all. A simply League with P and R at the end was all what was required with the end of DRs and Clubs in Sl and Championship forced to run U20s/Reserve Team-if they cant afford then drop down a Level!'"
Poor leadership isn't unique to the pro game, they are making a complete mess of the amateur game as well. I really do fear for the future of the sport

It seems your right Leon, spoke to both an Illingworth and a Boothtown player this very morning and they told me the same.
If you look on the Pennine League Website their are only half a dozen teams named in the Premier League!
Perhaps Dual Reg is the way forward.

| irrespective of the RFL's view, Rugby League is in the same poor state that it was prior to the arrival of the Murdock millions. We have a small group of successful teams, a small group of teams sustained by individuals, a few broke teams, a few teams with logical ambitions for their size and a group of teams with little ambition other than lasting the season. Fans unhappy and the numbers watching live dwindling away. The cash no longer compares with that available in Union.
The junior game remains lacking in leadership, suffering a dwindling of players and resources and fragmented competive structure.
Against this background we also have a resurgent, fully professional, relatively well run, multi-national and nationally organised rugby union organisation, that is dedicated to attracting the next generation of players and supporters. Irrespective if you as an individual like the sport or not it is now clearly the premier code in most regards in the UK, certainly in spectator numbers, players salaries and spectator facilities.
So what is needed is a root and branch review of League, not tinkering, sadly the present administrators do not have either the wit or the will.

Sadly Howard that is all true and when you look at what RU offers as a spectacle, as opposed to RL, ot is even more galling.

Not at all.
Leigh were using it in 2009 when Millward came back.
Jake Emmett from ST Helens and Matty Blythe from Warrington were two of the first i think

I wasnt happy with DR but i accepted it.
Firstly because i thought Arthur Thomas was cutting back on his financial backing for the club so the club would be running with a smaller squad and this would help.
Secondly because if the players you got werent good enough you could send them back, then go and enquire about players from other clubs.
Thirdly i actually thought we were doing our bit to help the sport by giving these players an opportunity to play at a higher level than what they were used to.Most of them went on and played regular SL games probably earlier that expected.
All that said when Leigh became a farm club that was to much for me and i walked away and ive not been back since with the exception of one game last season vs Dewsbury.I hope that answers your tainted bit.
To end with i'll say thank god for Beaumont,Norris ,Openshaw and a few others who got the club off those people and gave it its pride back
