Pete, sorry for the short notice but i'd like a question asking at "meet the coach" tonight please. I had asked a fellow poster to put the question to Marshall but he's apparently on grandaddy duties ( do the maths yourselves folks ) and has just messaged me to let me know it won't be possible.

HJ ....Big point from tonight's meeting, RM said if it benefited Halifax we would consider going DR and that it was 50/50. Sat in Dirty Dicks absolutely infuriated. If it happens I am gone after 55 years of supporting Fax. ELB Pale Ale. 4.0% Mmm!

I know what you mean I don't like DR and have never agreed with it BUT with us not having the budget of the 3 full time teams plus Fev what choice have we got this next season?
Sadly I think we have to look at DR to compete and as long as we do it right I can live with it, its the price we have to pay for missing out on that 2nd spot last season.

I'm not sure DR adds anything to a squad apart from resentment from current squad members and complete apathy from those coming in from other clubs. Building a squad isn't just about making up numbers. It's about teamwork, togetherness and pride. I just don't see how a DR system can provide that.

I think I'd prefer to finish 5th under our own steam rather than 3 rd with DR then be struggling next year. Let's build an honest Fax squad rather than play some Players for a team that has signed more than they need.

To be honest it all down to e management by the RFL again.

All I can say to put my point of view forward is I would rather be relegated with a team of Halifax players than 'succeed' with a team that isn't Halifax. How low can we go? We are Halifax RLFC. I can't believe after what happened with DR last season we are even discussing this.

No I'm working away. I guess he probably put some good spin on it but personally I am against it as I believe it is no good for the game, or Fax. It is only there to allow SL teams to have bigger squads and is a way for them to keep THEIR players match ready, they don't care about the lower clubs.

yes Neil arber and Hudd shay spoke strongly against DR and i am in 100% support of them.Richard said he would consider DR if it was to the benefit of this club.That's tantemount to dismissing it in my book.Apart from this gaffe RM came across really well
and i am looking forward to his coaching tenure.

I got the impression RM was not that keen but the board are. Either way Im not fussed, id rather win at all costs tbh.
