| Quote: faxfox "Although we are at home on Sunday and so my query is somewhat academic, do Swinton know where they are playing their home matches yet?
I don't think that Swinton have played any warm-up matches (though I stand corrected if they have), so, if that is correct, their players will not have gelled into a competitive outfit at this stage. So, I'll go for Fax 48 Lions 8,'"

That's clearly not big enough. You're going to have problems.

I was talking to the groundsman at Fev last year (think he's called rob?). He said that Wigan council do some treatment thing to the pitch at the LSV which costs best part of £20k a couple of times a year. His budget for fertiliser, seed ect is 8k.
I've always thought the best pitches are the ones that aren't relaid almost annually, but ones that have been established for many years. Whitehaven for example, might not be a billiard table type of turf, but even when it's wet it rarely cuts up badly.

| Josh Barlow, Anthony Bowman, Freddy Walker & a kid called Joe Worthington who recently played with Elland all got a run out for Swinny at the weekend, that could make things a little more interesting.
I don't see the game being on because of the weather, if it is on, i expect a dour, error strewn forward battle and a Fax win but not by a large points margin.

The LSV co do a great job with the pitch, but it is used by Leigh, Swinton, Blackburn res, RL intls/finals and some Man U res games amongst others - plus we have the Elton John concert coming up in June

| Today's Courier says that Scott will be fit for Sunday.
I know it was probably printed yesterday but no mention of weather the game is on or not.
Fingers crossed.
