When I was a young lad, a good Phil Lyon preview of the game, team news and gossip got folk talking in pubs, clubs, homes, factories and offices and would attract substantial floaters to the game.

Main stream media still has a massive effect on Joe Publics decision on deciding what to watch. Unfortunately these days, our local Townsfolk are unwilling to follow their local team and are seen in numbers watching a Man Utd game in the pub.

And as Chris points out, all those reports about the police attending a minor incident where no action was taken, its almost as if they have someone sat watching twitter, as soon as the police helicopter people tweet that they've been in Calderdale, they write a "report" for the website detailing nothing more than what the 140 character tweet of the police said, but padded out into a paragraph. then what REALLY riles me up (I need to get out more) is that they use the same image EVERY time.

Don't think great game covers it...??!! Obviously chuffed we won but for 70 mins we were dire and clueless. Last 10 mins was the only time we played with any urgency. Batley the better team by a long way. I will say we defended in the most part pretty well but Batley with ball in hand and around th ruck had far more zip. Very boring to watch again as a Fax fan for most if the game. A better composed side would have put us to the sword by half time.

Not sure how we pulled that one off, we didn't look interested for 70 minutes. Im really starting to think we need something a bit more than a few new half-backs, we had no idea in attack, extremely poor! Karl needs to pull something special out and CHANGE how we're playing, I was seriously considering whether bringing Calland - never thought i'd say this - back would be a viable option. Some major changes need to happen because people are losing interest and seemingly the players.
