If fax had won and even unlikely won the Grand Final they would still be in the same League making a profit and being well run like other clubs like Fev and Sheffield for example. Meanwhile in the Dream League clubs are announcing each week they cant cope and are close to going under. Teams like Bradford tell a lie and break the minimum Standards yet Wood and Rimmer are so poor they just ignore all the warning signs and do nothing about the future until the next set of licences and come out with even more bollo. You can keep Sl as far as I am concerned as atleast my club and other championship clubs know how to be proper clubs and do things mainly properly instead of taking everybody for a ride...

You profess to understand this game yet you make statements like this. The RFL have made it quite clear that what happens ON the field has absolutely nothing to do with the game.

To be fair, a few of them i know do have some humility and are greatful for how it's all turned out. They're under no illusions that a lot of effort has been put in by other clubs, directors and the RFL to save their ass.

It was your best period to be honest. Some of your better work on here. I can understand why you're hiding down on the lower league forums after your club's shamefull last nine months. Kick your heels on here for a while, until your club gets a bit of self respect back.

Bradford is a thorny topic on here. You have to undertsand it from the fans of a club outside the chosen few. We are told the high standards needed to get into SL and then we see Wakefield and Bradford collapse spectacularly with your club - seemingly a flagship club - dragging the game though the media mud for 9 months. After the slurry has been emptied you get handed a licence back. It proves that some clubs do NOT need to submit an application and it proves that licensing is a total and utter sham.

So when you come on here after what has happened is it any wonder that you're not slobbered over?

I think that we maybe have too high expectations for the sport. The fact is, given its lack of profile in the wider country and world, we will always be struggling for money, competent administrators and the ability to run competitions without the, shall we say, pragmatism that has been shown since the start of SL in terms of who has come up and who hasn't.

Any time I get any insight into what is going on behind the scenes in RL, two words pop into my head - "Phoenix Nights". Well-meaning incompetents, pompous at times but with their hearts in the right place trying to keep the ship afloat in the squall. No one is in it for the brass, because there isn't any. If the game does survive the threat posed by soccer, RU and the NRL's big bucks, we'll have done well considering.
