| Rotheram Fev Fan I would imagine is probably right to raise an eyebrow on the contract terms (whatever they may be rumoured, fact or fiction) but to me it makes financial sense for both the player and HRLFC .
Fax tie him up on contract for two years which ticks the club box of retention and developing local players. In fact that statement of intent to "look after" and retain local talent in itself may attract others back. Lets face it we havent really done well on that front over previous years with the drain of talent to anyone but their home team.
Hopefully under the guidance of KH, Sam will be the more mature finished product by the end of next season . If SL is being blocked to Fax then it may tempt one of the better SL clubs to make the club an offer for Sam. Everyones a winner and Sam would go with our blessing rather than go to a struggling SL club ie next years wooden spoon hot contestants; Castleford.
Alternatively if SL starts to look on the cards for fax we might actually be building a team over the next 2 years capable of moving up into SL without the wholesale changes Widness carried out.(Barlow, Ambler, Robinson , Tonks wouldnt be a bad front row set up at any level) ie actually build your team ready for whats ahead rather than try and change the whole team in 3 months. Now that does seem to be a club with a game plan that the RFL should take note of.......team building and finacial planning linked to a strategic aim!

| If the terms are right which will probably be pay as you play, game by game something similar to Jimbo.
Really hope he has a good injury free run all the best Morro.

I find that odd TBH.
If that was the case why did we bring so many three-quarters in this year to compliment the one's we already had ?
I think it's more a case of Rhino knows who his 1st pick halves are and Bowman can't nose in front of either in the near future, I think the lad has got a top rugby brain on him and I could imagine him playing loose forward at a push. I did think for most of the year it was a shoot out between Bowman & Casey for the final bench spot, Casey seems to be struggling with where he's picked positionally. The loss at Batley was unfortunally for the lad not his best game in a Fax shirt while filling in at centre, he also has the attributes to play 2nd row like last week or loose forward in my opinion. I might be wrong, but when we brought him in I'm sure there were plans to run him at dummy half which haven't really developed.
Both very talented young players who I hope can nail a place in the starting 17 regularly and continue their development at Fax.

| Will reserve judgement on Ian Morrison if he has signed......just hope its play and pay basis and he gets more luck on the injury front than recent years.
I think his last game was the away win at Post office road when he injured his knee early on but carried on. Cant fault his committment but he relies on fitness rather than bulk. Can his body keep taking the punishment against bigger oponents?.....well lets get him back playing and see.

I completely agree. I think Bowman is a terrifically underrated player. I think he has the attributes to make a great 13 but it's so pleasing to see a Halifax lad playing for his local team saying he doesn't mind where he plays as long as he wears the blue and white of Fax.
Since the Batley away game Barlow has been outstanding. It's become a case of Barlow plays but where as he can play 8, 12, 13 or an impact player off the bench like in Blackpool. I genuinely thought he was off to SL and I wouldn't have blamed him but I'm chuffed to bits he's re-signed.
