Not sure who Ash is, but I think the try scorer was No5 and I think his surname is James. How do I know? Well I think he had a No 5 on his back and the name James. But I could be wrong. Anyway, wasn't it good to see the delight when he scored. Mind you, taking his shirt of should have resulted in a red card and a heavy suspension! eusa_naughty.gif

This is RL and taking your shirt off to display something that obviously meant the world to him is fine by me so long as it's nothing that could incite the opposition fans.

Red cards for trivia are for the round-ball game!!!

P.S. not having a go, but was a) curious who Ash was. and b) think it's riduculous that football players take their shirts off for no reason (the Myton player did have a reason), and c) am bemused why it's a yellow card in football!!

So am I and to be honest I think all of us are, the problem is, that because we like a certain player we are loath to criticise them. Rob hasn't played particularly well this season. But I think he will turn it around.
I might be wrong (very often are) but I think he has lost his confidence, and he doesn't seem to be enjoying himself at the moment.
If he plays against Sheffield he neads to up his game, they love to hate him. O'h and Sam as well.

Btw, sad that they can have their names and squad numbers in an amateur league and we can't?

HXSparky, It was a joke, obviously not a very good one, but never the less a joke.

Blimey is there only you and me up at this late hour? Yes I agree squad numbers and names would be great, after all I can only tell it's Rob by the colour of his boots.
I wonder if they had the shirts specially printed for todays game because I don't remember seeing many amateur teams with their names on.

Just hope the Myton players and officials enjoyed their day out despite the scoreline. They come with little chance but glad to see they didnt get frustrated and dirty which ruins the day for me. All the best to Myton Warriors for the future.

Good day all round as it was a decent enough crowd, third best in the third round although I thought it would have been about 1200 tbh on a beautiful day. Myton shuld have made a few quid on the day with bucket collection and programme sales.
I hope Myton enjoyed their day they stuck to playing rugby even when they were getting outclassed so a big well done to them for that eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif

As for Fax well we did a professional job and got a new record score, being a bit greedy I know but it could have been 100.
The Ref allowed play to go on and for once did not try leaning to the amateurs like some have done before although the officials missed two blatant forward passes by Myford and an offside at a couple of the kick offs, but hey ho sounds nit picky that.

Good to see that some of the 'fringe' players also have decent ability as in previous seasons we have had players who have looked pretty average so it proves to me our squad has strength in depth, even though it was only an amatuer team they still had a job to do and did it pretty well.

I enjoyed it, credit to Myton, they never gave in and didn't try to mix it unlike that idiot last year. I believe Halifax not only allowed Myton to have a bucket collection but also keep all the proceeds from the program sales. Well done Fax.

Thanks for the nice comments everybody!

That is correct, Halifax let Myton produce the programmes and keep the proceeds(about £260) and the bucket collection was for the Myton Youth section which raised more than £300, so thanks to all the Halifax fans that contributed.

Yes thought the crowd was bit quiet, our fans were louder but saying that it was a big game for us.

Yes the ref a bit lax with a lot of decisions for both teams, he told us at one point in the game he needed to look good to make sure he got a fixture next week....

I have watched our first try over and over and it is easily on side and you can see the touchie running with his arm in the position to say onside....

I would say our try was brilliant and one of the best of the game but i would do as it was me that scored it....

Ash is my younger brother who is the Myton club captain who was injured/not selected for the Halifax game. haha don't be trying to get me a red card guys....

We had a new shirt bought by our new sponsors for this season arrive last week, so we made last season's shirt into a commemorative shirt with the halifax match details embroided in the front and name printed on the back and all players kept the shirts afterwards as a memory of the game!

A great day was had by all our players/committee/supporters and we would like to thank you all!

Please take some time to look at our photos from the game taken by our 2 photographers at our website below:
