She carries on through it all...... She's a Waterfall:

Quote: DARE "A loan move for a half back, especially with the half back position being so central. (And bearing in mind Bradford's usual injury crisis)
He's on a season long loan I believe. (I believe the club will confirm this this week)

Quote: DARE " Also, what if he's lost the 'Fev flow' in his time away?

Here's hoping anyway. Well aye. This could be the case. Same with any signing. Like what will happen this season if Handforth turns out to be the player I think he is..
Your coach makes a judgement. You either trust in him or you don't.
I'll go with Daryl. He never offers me advice of nursing. I'll leave the rugby decisions to him! icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

Another great signing by Fev. Wish we had Briggs to be honest, over what we have, as for me I am still undecided that Thackray and Handford are as good as the hype.

Briggs chipping over for raynor who barges off worrincy to go in at the corner in front of the fax fans in the 75th minute for a match clinching score has a nice ring to it
Feel free to quote me.
I will icon_lol.gif

I dont think it will have a negative impact on the season, but i do agree that there will some added pressure on his shoulders, some will be expecting the same heights he acheived in his last season and expecting things to happen straight away, im not convinced they will at the start especially if things arent going our way

We will see though and its a miles better signing than grimshaw ever was for me

Depends what you want of course, but Handforth was the driving force on the field for us when we finished third, and I know for certain that we were definitely going down the season that he joined us until he arrived. Thackray I am not sure about.

As for Briggs, good signing because he is a good player, simple really!

He was nowhere near as rude as i would of been, that jumped up clown did cost us 20k, he didnt even have the decency to put his booites on before he inspected the pitch.

Loans are fair enough BUT you still have to pay his wages and surely you must be borderline for the salary cap??

Its not a dig its a genuine question as they don't get very high crowds although they do own their own ground so all taken in the bars is theirs.

I would imagine our wages are similar to yours some of your players won't be cheap you also have a very good squad I also know that one player took a pay cut to come to fev from there previous club in the hope he wins some medals

You have a point Fax4life and I must admit that it does concern me that a club that is consistently delivering on the field like ours still struggles to hit bigger gate numbers. Having said that I would rather watch my team win and compete in a lower league than be a Wdnes fan and get our A42es kicked every week. icon_wink.gif

Can't think of a better way to contribute financialy to my club than through the Bar icon_cool.gif

Massive boost for Fev, unfortunately for Briggs he hasn't got that vital thing that is required to get a proper run in SL...... an Aussie accent. Also good work from our friends from Fev getting a few Bulls fans in the net icon_lol.gif splendid work!

If I may....

Advantages Fev have had recently over most other clubs below SL....
Over the last couple of seasons there has been a fair bit of prize money coming into the club. Losing GF monney, Winning league and GF money.
Big money for Briggsy (loaning him back after receiving big money PROBIZ are turning out to be cracking partners divvying up wonga I would have thought highly unlikely in these economic climes!
Additionally, owning our ground is a massive income generator with sell out gigs/sportsmans do's to fund our scholarship schemes (that SL clubs get funded for them)!
Then our marketing gadgy..... at the mo he's probably trying to find the only square inch of the ground he hasn't sold advertising boards on!!
Then there's player/kit sponsorships which generate a nice income.

Add that lot together and it might give an indication where we're at.
A club can have low crowds but if they are pro-active in income generation (or their infra-structure allows such activity), and a chairman who is like a rotweiler with a bone when he sniffs a deal/benefit to the club, you have the difference between a club like Rovers was in 2005 (lots of unrealised potential) and the 2012 version. Not perfect but significantly improved. edit:- massively improved!!
After years n years of crapola, I can now get giddy at the seasons prospects!

it's a bit long winded but there ya go.

Next time your at the big fellas just have a look at how many bars are dotted around the ground you cant not buy a beer even if you didnt really want to, we must make a big % of the gate in secondary income not many teams in the championship cant compete with us on that score as every penny comes to us. Also the clubhouse / function room is hired out for weddings, funerals anything you like really i know anyone in Fev who has a 40th has it there as there is nowhere else adequate in the area. I myself must of been to 8 functions there in the last 2 1/2 years to see comedians, past players dos, even to see Eddie Gray and Peter Lorimer sometimes i have taken my wife some times my son, what i do know is every time i have been i have spent over 100 notes. Rovers have got it spot on in this area crowds on match days alone are no where near enough but if we can increase ours this year and the early indications are they will rise with approaching 1k season ticket holders there really will be no stopping us in this league
