Why would a team who finished higher than us,have home advantage, smashed us at said home earlier in the season and have scored 90 points in the past two games suddenly think they can't beat us?

My wife comes from Sheffield and on visiting the ma in law today i could smell the fear in the city. Sheffield are aware of the inevitability of what is about to happen on Thursday/Friday/Sunday

Aye we're going win. Standard Just highly doubt Sheffield are planning our downfall knowing they're going to.

I was talking to Aston at West Park Leeds RU club yesterday at a service area U/18's festival that my lad & his lad were both playing in. He reckons they want to play at Bramhall lane & the only chance they have to play there is sunday aft. They don't want to take it to Don Valley but if they have to it'll likely be on friday. I hear that our club prefer a thursday fixture.

Not being funny but you finished 6th so should have no say when the game should be played really,As long as its before sunday,then its our decision and there is no problem.

I reckon as current champions you should doff your cap to us !

Agreed - so get the fook on with it and pick a date - stop fannying around.

We want it at the lane, better atmosphere, closer to the pitch, better ground etc, Uni*ted don't want us playing before their game on Saturday so we'll have to play Sunday, you lot are kicking up a fuss cos you want it on Friday night, but at the end of the day if you wanted a say in when the playoff games should be played you should've probably won a few more games earlier on in the season. As it happens I agree that, although it happens week in week out in the regular season, whoever wins out of us two will be at a disadvantage when we play the final eliminator due to the Sunday/Thursday turnaround. Although I have to be honest, I think it'll all be academic anyway as I think Leigh and Featherstone are currently streets ahead of anything else in this league.

Personally I don't get this 4 day turn around business and think it's, statistically, not going to effect the outcome of the next game anymore so than a 6 day turnaround. I'm sure Fax have actually won more of these games than not. However, obviously if we are requesting it then the players feel different so that's fair enough.

At the end of the day though, Sheffield have earned Home advantage and their say should go and that's that.

So as I said , ' the plot thickens ' , I was questioning the Eagles over the delay in announcing when and where , your suggestion is that it is Fax that are the problem

Don't be daft as a game like this should be agreed by BOTH clubs as it is only the week or less before the winners will play at Fev or Leigh. Would you be happy if it was the other way around???
But I am sure Mr Aston will do his damnest to make life difficult for us and pass all the blame onto us as always.
