Quote: Faxhali "But its not about us that normally get the tickets, preaching to already converted fans is fruitless, we get them already, we need to appeal to new fans who think its not a bad price, how could you do that when the galpharm is 15 minutes up the Hill as is Odsal and its a 3rd of the price, A Family could buy 3 ST for either club for the same as just one FAX one in the league bellow, Plus SL get more games and First round of challenge cup free. Seriously £160 to watch fax play, Swinton, Hunslet, Sheffield, Crusaders, Batley, Leigh, Fev, Barrow and whoever comes up from the CC1 playoffs isn't that appealing at that price.

Little Rich is right though, cant just give them away as will never get them back up but £100 ST with no freebies would have been great and i would have been there tomorrow.'"

All joking aside i see your point but we cannot compete with Bradford and Huddersfield so what is the point in killing ourselves with a £50 - £100 season ticket. At least we will know that around 1000 people will buy them for sure. The theory is that if you have a season ticket for £50 that you might get three times the interest and then have a gate of 3000 - 4000 at each home game but in reality it doesnt work that way as fairweather people will not attend every week. Bradford are testement to that this season with their poor crowds that have been manufactured on the basis of non attending season ticket holders at £50. I personally feel that it devalues our product. They will come if they want to and they wont if they dont. The fact that there is an early bird offer with certain benefits appeals to me personally, but i will buy a season ticket regardless as im sure yourself and many other will. Money is tight for everyone i know but we have some exciting times ahead, all be it at a lower level than we would like, but there is little we can do about it at the moment. If we stick together long term the club will prevail over the cheapo brigade.

Quote: Fax Machine "I agree wholeheartedly with all of that. I've just bought mine on-line but I can't say that I'm impressed with the pricing. It's cost me considerably more than last year (IIRC) at a time when prices should be going down. I personally will always support Fax but I can certainly understand how floating/prospective supporters could be drawn to Huddersfield or Bradford in preference to Halifax. I guess it's like being offered a ManU season ticket for less than half the price of a FCHT one (not that I'd accept either, even if they were free. LOL)

The other thing is the free dining package which I didn't take up this year and probably won't next either. I prefer a pint or two before the game rather than a meal and some of our group don't get ST's and wouldn't want a meal anyway. I wonder, out of interest, what percentage of those qualifying took up the offer this year?'"

I thought the same but its exactley the same as last year but with the option of going into the east stand. Probably still cant swap stands unless you are a away supporter, ( i noticed this lots this season ).

I'd imagine its a New Position, despite having someone in this role in the past (Chris Murgatroyd, Paul Ebrey), I think Graham Clay did a lot of the Commercial Side of things while he was with the club, and since he left Mike Riley has looked after a lot of that side of things.

Still think that the prices should have stayed as 2011, particularly as there will be one game less. That said, it's relatively good value but it's effectively a surcharge to the regular South Standers.

No way should we have gone down the Bulls/Giants route but there's not much in the way of enticing any new supporters or bringing back the "lost ones". Surprised the club haven't offered an extended monthly payment option, this may have encouraged a few more.

Having said that, there's no doubt that I will renew.

"The appointment comes on the back of the release of the 2012 Early Bird Season Ticket, the first time it's been released before the current league campaign finishes. With further season ticket packages to be released in October, and several new schemes planned in the future, the end of 2011 and start of 2012 is highly anticipated. "

So what to do ?. do i wait and see what the one in october is, I think i might do you know. If its better then the Mrs might let me get away with getting one this year, just leave her at home. eusa_angel.gif

The main idea behind the cheap season tickets is that you get more money on the match day from food/drink/merchandise. Our problem is that we don't as a club receive any money from food and drink so no point in doing it.
People think they are getting a good deal and are therefore prepared to spend a bit more at the game as it balances out their costs over the day.

How much do they go up to when the offer ends? Do we take it enterance prices are going up this year because if i paid on the gate in every game it would cost me £180 to watch but in likelyhood the prices will be reduced for the CC game so your looking at £175 to watch every game next season if the prices stay the same so you miss more than one game then its not really worth getting a season ticket is it? (Im basing this on 9 home games + 2 NRC games and 1 CC game and been a SS regular) Just going through the link that HXSparky posted and they are saying its only for 11 home games so if thats correct personally for me next season this saves me a whopping £5, gogogogogogo.

Im sure if the club had put their heads together they could have done some sort of deal for the fans based on the Bulls and Hudds promotions. Lets face facts the club isnt going to sell more season tickets for next season at the above prices than they did last season are they? So they already know the income they get from say 1K season tickets sold. Why not then do a tiered price range for if they sell 1.2K, 1.4K etc etc so the club makes more money and the fans get the tickets cheaper. Ok the club then loses a lot of its matchday income but the club knows them figures you would hope and can work ways round it. If they think they could sell say 2K tickets then they could always add some vouchers in for bring a friend schemes so they could get in for a tenner. It would take a bit of time to work the figures out best but with the people on the board and thir contacts, finding someone to come up with the best strategy shouldnt be too hard.

I wondered if to get new people buying season tickets.
To reward a regular season ticket holder who encourages either a lapsed season ticket holder eg one who has not held a season ticket for say 5 yrs or more .Or some one who never buys a season ticket but goes to matches often to buy a season ticket they could either sell them a bit cheaper at combined price or offer some other sort of incentive which they could share.
It doesn`t have to be monetary value it could be something else , there are many people who all know someone who do not buy a season ticket it would be a good way of promoting debate around it.
I also hope to see promotion of the fact you get into Under 23s games for free with a season ticket to ensure the Under 23s are looked upon as a valuable part of the Club where marketing is concerned.

Do the club keep records of people who havnt renewed season tickets? They didnt use to keep records of sponsors so has this area improved now?

I do feel the club have missed a trick by not following the lead of Bradford and Huddersfield.

Whichever way you look at it, what the club are charging for second tier rugby with no chance of promotion is too expensive. I think the vast majority of people who are moaning about the price of season tickets will no doubt buy one regardless.

So why didn't the club at least try the pledge route. For example, "If 4,000 people sign up then season tickets are £75". One of the main issues why we didn't get a SL license was the poor size of our crowds, this needs sorting. One of the biggest plusses Michael Steele harped on about after our SL rejection was about the thriving amateur Rugby scene in our district. I dare say that there are at least a couple of thousand people who play Rugby or who are at least involved in amateur Rugby throughout our catchment area and including places like Brighouse and Tod and even into Bradford if you include Queensbury and Shelf in that one. If the numbers do come flocking and buy the season tickets fantastic, who cares if they only come to the so called 'big games' what a PR story it would be "SL hopeful Halifax sell 4,000 season tickets!"

I reckon if we don't get enough people to pledge, the majority of people will still buy a season ticket, its just a shame the club haven't at least tried to tap into this so called "thriving" amateur scene in our district in order to overcome a massive stumbling block in our progression to SL by the pledge route.
