| To me the plans put in place by Fev for the away fans are ill-conceived and could be said to be inviting trouble. The yobs are effectively having the away fans and their vehicles pointed out to them, thus reducing the risk of them targeting their own fans by mistake. The Fax fans held back at the end of the match will just be sitting ducks to any missile throwing or otherwise aggressive yobs.
Where has the spirit of friendliness in rugby league gone, particularly in Featherstone?
I wont be going either. Shame, because in many respects Rovers is a nice little club.

| Not going like the majority of Fax fans that I know, in fact I don't know any that would normally go who are.
The reason?
A still very poorly man still in Pinderfields is why.
Its a boycott because the mindless few are still a good number at Fev and following the antics of those at The Shay this season I do not believe they will be any better at Post Office Road tomorrow but more of them.
Many also don't feel like lining the pockets of a club that still do not do enough to deal with this issue and condemn these morons to make it unacceptable.
Sorry you decent Fev fans but that is the way it is, don't tell us they have won and all that please respect our decision, thanks.

| Well i hope those that make the trip over enjoy the day/game and hopefully can post a decent thread about it, as most of us at Fev wont really know if it was ok as we will have gone by then, i hope it is a positive experience
As said hopefully some of you might change your minds for the semi final
With you going to the bottom of the league there is a bit of added spice now on the pitch

| When was the last time trouble broke out at a game at Post Office Road? There has been one isolated incidentt, away from the ground, of a gang of young idiots throwing stones at a coach. They hadn't even been to the game. The last time there was any sort of disturbance in the ground was in the 1980's when HKR used to visit.
The club has done everything within its power to help find the culprit who assaulted and badly injured David after the Grand Final. Arrests were made but the Police had to let them go due to lack of concrete evidence. What more does anyone think the club can do? Every club has a tiny minority of disruptive idiots, Leigh brought more than their share a few weeks ago so they shouldn't point the finger at anyone. No doubt Fax have a few as well. As I say I've not seen any trouble at a Rovers home game since the eighties and there won't be any on Sunday either. 99.9% of Featherstone Rovers fans will welcome you all to our home and I'm sure it would be reciprocal at the Shay.
You shouldn't miss out, it looks like being an absolute corker.

| I am going and taking my young family with me - both children below 3.
I think every club has its trouble makers and will not allow the isolated few to put me off supporting my team and doing my best to cheer them through a difficult game.
The last time I went to Featherstone we were the only fax fans in the stand. Some good natured banter - 'Fax fan, give us a wave' and all of them seemed friendly and helped when we were struggling to move a pram down the stairs.
I think its sad that people are being put off going but hope that the 'real' fev fans whom I have met manage to stamp out this reputation of being thugs.

| Like I have stated the only reason I am not going is because I can't make it tomorrow and I would personally love to be going. It is up to each individual if they want to travel to Featherstone or not and I respect everyones choice and feelings on the matter. I feel sorry that it as to be like this for the true Featherstone fans as sadly each town as its fair share of mindless morons (Halifax no less than any where) just very sad that some of Featherstones ended up at Warrington. Personally I would stay away from Leigh more than any other Rugby League ground.

| Let me just clarify. There is not segregation at the game. Supporters are free to go where they want and all supporters are welcome in the bars both before and after the game.
We are simply parking the away supporters coach in a new area in order to eradicate the problems we have had with anti-social behavior in the town aimed at visiting supporters buses. It is not a crowd control measure. If the police attend it is in the capacity of Neighbourhood policing.
Since the bus will be parked near a turnstile which is not normally open, we decided to open it to ease entry to the ground. It will also ease exit by the same nature.
Since we are parking the bus in a new place, which Stewards will patrol (to deter any youths who may consider acts of vandalism) then it was seen as friendly to invite other spectators to park their cars in the same area in order to *encourage* people to make the journey to the game.
To be fair, I think it is the chatter on internet forums which has blown this out of proportion.
I hope that makes sense and clears a few things up.
Hope to see many of you at the game.

Not classing the trouble against Leigh a few weeks back as a disturbance? Theres been about 3 threads on here deleted by the mods regarding trouble at Fev games its really no surprise some will choose not to go.

| Love how rugby league fans blow everything out of proportion, the incident at Warrington was very sad but the crime was made by a few idiots and not the majority of Fev fans, everyone hopes this individual/s are caught and brought to justice. To stay away from watching your team in a match in West Yorkshire for this reason is pretty ridiculous and in my opinion not what true passionate fans would do. You should turn up in numbers and support your team as they are going to need it the way they defend their try line most weeks.
Tarnishing all Fev fans with the same brush because of the incident in Warrington or any minor incidents that have happened recently is like saying all Fax fans should be searched today for flammables so they don't start any other fires when the match is getting away from them.
Lets face it your support has dwindled this season anyway with having a bad start so its any excuse for some people.

Its not just what happened at Warrington though thats put a lot of Fax off going its what also happened at the Leigh and Barrow games not to mention the how the Fev fans behaved at the shay earlier in the season. Personally I wish I was going to Fev today as I have to stay away for other reasons but you can not blame people for feeling a bit scared of coming.

There's absolutely no reason to be scared, its a game of rugby. How much has happened when Fax previously visited Fev over the years? Minor incidents maybe but its the same the other way round, my uncle was once beat up by several blokes at Thrum Hall years ago but it has no bearing on anything. I'm a massive football fan too and have been all over the country supporting my team, believe me there's nothing to fear from any rugby league matches compared to football matches and the vast majority of football matches pass without any major incidents.

I too are a massive football fan and have traveled all over the country supporting my team and going to Fev holds no fears for me like I said I wish I was going however a man still lies in hospital in a bad way and lucky to be alive even if thats 1 in a billion incident its enough to put off a lot of people especially when the person responsible is still at large. My Brother and some friends have gone on the train via Pontefract I know for fact they will make a point of having a drink or 2 around fev and in the ground before and after the game and mingle with the Fev fans just as I would if I was there. I really hope to be at the Northern Rail Semi Final.
