Are you sure it wasn't a request from the Department of Work and Pensions reminding them that their players were about to undergo an inspection of their work visas?

| I remember the pain of all those grand finals we (Leigh) lost with promotion at stake, the pain as Widnes took us out in the semis, the monumental feeling for the last 10 mins of extra time v Haven in 2004. Emotional roller coaster, the NL GF was the biggest game of the year because it had the most at stake.
On announcement day the Widnes fans will feel nothing like they felt when beating us in that semi or beating Oldham in the final, or losing to Cas or HKR. The RFL has taken that away from us all.
Sport = extreme joy and pain at whatever moment in time, no longer important to the RFL.

Not really as it was Fax fans discussing their plans for franchise d-day so quite interesting to see what the 'opposition' were planning. yet the usual Leyther dribble comes up yet again, get over your not involved... why? Cos you've been pi$$ poor on the pitch so yea laugh at us all you want but that is the FACT no-one cares about Leigh because of ON THE FIELD ISSUES!

If I remember rightly Widnes haven't exactle outshone everyone with their performances on the pitch either. What they've done off the field has put them in with a chance of a SL place.

To qualify to bid you had to win NRC / Reach a grand final we did that full stop.
My main debate here was Leigh moaning about franchises as makes 'on the picth' not important, however had THEY performed on the pitch then they could of applied, so in a sense their point is invalid.

No , Widnes have done ON the pitch all they needed to do to get a licence , off field they are not much different to how they were when they were relegated

You clearly don't know a lot about Widnes off the field then, structure may not be different but in terms of O'Neils shop? Many more sponsors rather than the 2/3 in 2008. New training facility given the go ahead by council. It was very good last time, now it is much better with people like TO'C & PC still operating important roles within the club.

| It'll be my first day back at work on the 6-2 shift after a weekend in Holland watching my favourite rock band play friday, saturday & sunday gigs. I'll be with my Fev supporting buddy & I'll be gloating about our victory over his lot

It is fairly different...
We now have a chief executive overseeing the day to day running of the club and we have a marketing manager. Both things were missing when we were relegated and both jobs were attempted by, a guy I would love to see back at the club, Pat Cluskey.
