| Quote: Greg Florimos Boots "Sorry, i stopped reading there.'" I understand, if anyone had said even 12 months ago we'd get around 250k gross package for 2 of our players id do a mental health assessment there and then. It's a strange world. Made the club fiscally bouyant, just have to identify the best way to manage briggsys departure now.

| Someone is padding the figures. Even if you got 150k for Zak Hardacre and 100k for Briggs that would still be more than Hull paid for Westerman.

| Care to share PM?
As I'd be very surprised if anyone outside SL was worth near that much, never mind fact most contracts have SL get out clauses at some stage.
I see though you mention a 'package & friendlies' maybe if both have offered to play Fev in friendlies with Fev keeping 100% of takings could boost it up a bit!

| I have to say the figure of £250k smells very much like Fev fans trying to cheer themselves up over losing 2 great players.
The days of large figure transfers are gone, the current financial climate and the nature of player contracts just doesn't support them. You cannot stand in the way of a young player who has been given the chance to play at the top level (release clauses ensure that), lower league clubs are then left in the position of hoping that the SL that wants them is prepared to be reasonable about that players value.
The figure for the Hardaker was reported as £60k not £100k (Leeds sourced), though I believe Fev never released an official statement on the financial details. As much of a talent as Briggs is, there is no way anyone will be paying in excess of £100k for him (I personally suspect the actual figure to be a lot less).
Finally, were I a Fev fans, I would consider the greatest benefit from these transfers to be the satisfaction in have been part of the development of 2 such promising young players.

| well yes there is some satisfaction of bringing these through - but as I said, I don't need cheering up. I'm a cheerful enough bloke - for a big ginner!!!
I don't Bullsh&t - never really have done. I'm confident and happy with the BoD and the deals they've done in the best interests of the club and I'm confident with what monies will hit the a/c.
I can't make anyone believe me, and to be honest, if I'm happy with it then that's enough for me at least.

| You could have got a million quid for them, but you still have a salary cap of 300k the same as everyone else. So uinless you have been taking lessons in how to find a loophole, the money won't make much difference. I expect you'll still be contributing to Hardacres salary so unless you can get a good un to replace briggs and accept Championship money the likelihood is you will suffer.
Looking on the brightside, Tim Hartley is available I think

Yes they can only spend 300k on players but whatever they want off it... Academy, stadium etc etc SL bid 2015 may have just got one big boost!

I know it will make a difference somewhere, its where it will make a difference, most of what I put was tongue in cheek, chill out. Wonder why the fee is undisclosed? Seeing as I've now seen reliable sources being cited for 3 different figures, I guess at least two of them are unreliable
Fev were very strong at half back last year, he'll take some replacing and if Leeds have an injury crisis, isn't there the risk he could get called back to his new paymasters. This would have been better for Darryl Powell if it had happened in November.

| I had hoped that as part of the deal one of our young halves might go to Fev on loan. Doesn't look to be happening but Mick Potter has said he'll look to send younger players out to championship clubs, so you may see a couple at Halifax! Olbison, Crossley, Crookes and Addy are all ones who are expected to go out on loan this year.
