| How about Fax supplying free transport for Leigh fans when we play you in April ?
Chance of us bringing a big enough support to open the south stand , make for better atmosphere

Is it usable ?
And I am deadly serious , if your marketing bloke wants to attract and keep new local fans he needs to create a better atmosphere at the Shay , it is a good layout now with the ' patio ' area , having a decent away following in the North stand would help with that
Just a thought , what if Leigh were willing to do the same for the return match on the Thursday night ? , what do you think the ' take up ' would/could be ?

this guy knows what he wants,,
TEN thousand fans watching top flight rugby league at the Shay.
That is the long-term target of Halifax's new marketing director Tony Abbott.
www.halifaxcourier.co.uk/local/A ... 6679766.jp
would be great for him to do that, and i for one sure hopes he does,

| I know about 25 years or so ago, John Stabler the then chairman of York RL went around every school in the York RL area giving away free tickets to the kids. His thinking was that if a child wanted to go to the game an adult would have to accompany them. I think it didn't work as 20 kids would go with 1 parent, but it could be improved. Giving tickets away to kids that lets them in for free if they bring a non season ticket holding adult for example.
for those kids that parents are season ticket holders already they could bring a friend of the family. I am also sure that the club could also arrange a young supporters club for season ticket holding children.
Its just a thoughticon_biggrin.gif

Its just a thought
Free kids tickets dont work
The Skircoat stand needs to be sponsored by the council , they pay the stewarding costs , you put families in it free
No family ever gets more than one ticket per season
You put transport on for away fans giving you all 4 sides of the Shay being used , a leap of faith is required

I like your thinking, but being treated as a normal human being for wanting a bottle of pop with a top on (to keep the bubbles in) would be nice at the LSV.
Seriously, you have some good thoughts, but most clubs will want to try and maximise home support given the lack of numbers from most teams (Widnes/Leigh/Fax excepted).

They worked at Odsal
No chance of the council paying for anything and I wouldn't expect them to do so due to the cutbacks they are having to make elsewhere.

Unfortunatley the LSV is the LSV , run by Yorkshiremen apparently
Their council used to give them 80k a season as a softener though.

| Quote: Leon Ashton "They worked at Odsal www.wakefieldwildcats.co.uk/2011 ... statement/ they state that not achieving 10,000 crowds will count against them. Basically all the clubs have been told by the RFL that they will only give you a licence if they believe you have the potential to get around 10,000 fans week in, week out. Obviously Quins and Crusaders don't really need to worry about this criteria as far as the RFL are concerned, but from a financial point of view, I think 10,000 is also viewed as a magic figure where you can remain competitve but also self sufficient. Any SL side not getting 10,000 fans either have to rely on outside investment or make cut backs on the field.
