Do you think Huddersfield fans took that view when the finished bottom of SL for nearly a lifetime ?
Look where they are now and don't anyone try rubbishing them 'cos I won't accept it, they've built on the success of having a new home/stadium to expand their business very successfully. Much as it hurts me to say it, clubs like Hudds are the ones we should now be aspiring to be like in the next decade, like it or lump it, they are where we'd like to be right now. Our club is being run by a very good board, supporters trusts etc, the stadium is almost complete and we've ticked most of the required boxes for a SLE application.

Difference is they have an old guy who is willing to throw money at them. They can afford to take risks to a certain extent financially. Fax do not have that and so the hopes and reality for SL is maybe not there. For Fax to survive in SL I feel we need a money man involved or else we would just be another Salford losing more than we win. For now I am happy to stay in the Championship and build things like an Academy/Reserve team and where we have a good chance of winning something. Maybe things will change for Fax and the game in general in future.

Er a money man behind them, a stadium built for them, left off relegation, a nice few quid to supposedly merge, when they get relegated no salary cap so the money man could pay for a SL squad to get them back up. Yes crowds have got better, but because of success that the money has bought, but still not big enough to sustain that success if the money wasn't there. Jealous - yes, but be honest, they have had a bit of help over the years!!

So mr. jealous, as a supporter, would you swap places with them ?
You miss my point, their starting point was their new stadium and they built their business from it. I'm damned sure that if they'd been relegated any one time of all those they finished bottom, they'd have willingly gone, they must have thought they had no future in the top tier. They've taken their chances and grown. At that time, they had a lot less speccies than what we have now, I'm sure.

Exactly. Some of our fans seem to forget a certain Mr Gartland who bank rolled us in the 90s. If I remember rightly our salary costs were 95% of our income!

...................and he owned the players (back when they were worth owning due to transfer fees). I think the only assets that Halifax had were the war torn toilets behind the main stand and Andrew Hardcastle's Old Curiosity shop

Too right. I think Karl Harrison cost £100k, Michael Jackson something similar ... the list is endless. The club ended up owing Mr Gartland a fortune, yet he let us off, despite the vile abuse he received. A real top bloke who still loves the club despite all what happened. Fax fans .... 80% true blue, 20% nob 'eads. And we still seem to be stuck with the 20% nob 'eads judging by the dross on the terraces last Sunday.

I've stood near people for the past few seasons that have done nothing but abuse the players, even when we've been 30, 40 even 50 points up! Some people turn up just to vent it would appear.

In the SS the past few weeks I've stood in front of this complete prik who does nothing but moan. Worrincy can't do anything right, infact the only time he was quiet was when Rob scorched the touchline against Hunslet! And he did nothing but abuse Stan the Man last Sunday, he does my head in!

Yes i would swap places, thats why i say i am jealous. I agree they have made great developments in the last few year, but you make out that they have done this all on their own. They have had a fair bit of luck and help with this, e.g stadium, merger money and bankrolled as well. If it wasn't for the stadium, they would have gone, cos i'm sure the RFL would have relegated them and wouldn't have encouraged the merge. But they have taken their chance(s) and made the best of it
Still very jealous though!!
