Gleeson is quality, a good first pass from acting halfback is worth 10 points a game, Gleeson has that.

You were obviously one of the clump that were making idiots of themselves by making stupid calls all the time. Your only defence can possibly be that you watching a different match, nay, sport.

heh? just watched again and forward throughout the ENTIRE game were pretty even over all, both sides made yards and also made good tackles driving back etc. I hear your forwards were dominant as where your backs... guess that's why scored same amount of tries as us then yes?

To be fair Widnes took most of their "try scoring" chances during the game, however had we converted all our chances the score would have looked a much more one sided contest in my opinion. Trys have to be scored though and we made some pretty poor decisions at times keeping Widnes in the game. I thought there was 15 mins in the second half where Widnes were hanging on as if their lives depended on it and we took some dumb decisions and panicked at the crucial moment. I personally thought we had blown it rather than Widnes winning the game, then up popped Penky!! icon_biggrin.gifANCE: eusa_clap.gif

That worried me a little last night actually. Widnes seemed to suss him out, kicking over at him a good few times, looked lost everytime. Expect him to get a lot of practise at it for the rest of the season now!

That's just Paul White though isn't it, typical game you expect from him yesterday, similar to Penny you just hope they score more than they let in!

I thought Widnes were strong for the first 20 and feared a hammering! However they only put 6 on the board despite all the possession and playing way better than us. Fax then seemed to click when Mr Dependable came on and Widnes struggled at times with the speed fax were playing at.Fax were faster at the play the ball and hence made more metres. The forwards were class for me. Mika, Said, Stan, Maloney etc went through a ton of work and Widnes seemed in periods have problems with the quick play the balls. Fax need to cut out some of the silly mistakes and be better at defending near their own line. The game could easily of been won by Widnes.
I obviously do not see too many games living abroad. However when I have seen fax live or on TV I have never seen Gleeson have a poor game. He is always concistant. The likes of Ben and Penky are thrillers but they also do throw some awful passes and make some silly mistakes that Gleeson never seems to do. I think Gleeson is Mr Dependable for Fax and is for me underrated and should be in SL-not that I am complaining mind.
Branighan was very good last night and his kicking game was good. I thought young Bowman stood up again. He made one mistake but seemed injured when losing the ball. However he set up that try at the end so calm and confident. Should be in the 17 each week for me as he is only going to get better.Well done Fax was proud to be in the Shamrock cheering you on last night.

Gleeson and Branighan looked excellent together, great distribution, passing, looking up and straightening up at the right time, Gleeson is an awesome long passer too, it complements Black and Penky too when they get their chances.
The 4 of them will offer plenty of variety this year. Just gotta get the best prop partnership now and a big pacey back rower would be great.

Also great to see Goddard working his butt off, he looks to be on his way back to his best and will cut some of the other sides to shreds if he carries on with his reborn enthusiasm.

Top man Glees, quality..

Gleeson was excellent - but nevers seems to have a bad game. always does the basics so well and usually makes takes the right option.

Branhigan is getting better each game. Kicking in open play was top drawer and constantly put widnes on back foot. Best game for us so far.

Other than 1 dropped pass. Penky was again back towards his best. We're very lucky to have 2 quality hookers to interchange.

There's one and three-quarter seasons to go yet icon_biggrin.gif

I think SOC's chequebook will stretch beyond The Championship to be honest. Mind you, Ben Fisher's doing well at HKR so who knows?

It's frustration on their part. Have you seen the Halifax Town wikipedia page? Go and have a look. It's grim reading - even the "glory years" bit. It's no wonder these saps come on here looking for life.
