| Quote: Eddie stobbard "If you can get your team up and win games that matter and have the tick in the box for superleague at this stage of the season.
I would say that its a job done on what you need to do and the rest is just a case of going out and putting other teams that think they are better than you to the sword.
Under cullen we have spanked halifax barrow and fev in the last couple of months when it matters.
Would you rather be sat joint top of the league tonight and have that tick in the superleague spot or have a couple of games in hand against the team that as took you to the cleaners tonight and knowing that sometime you will have to play them again to get anything out of this season.
cometh the moment commeth the man.
cullen is the best coach in this league.'"
But you'll never beat the Leythers

Ungrateful sod! We gave you those posts, sir. We gave you them because we knew you would need them.
Now go and finish the job and stop dilly dallying! Championship without Leigh is like South Park without Butters. Sure, he is the stupid kid everyone (including his parents) picks on, but we need him.

| i was disappointed by the vikings lack of good humour. They did not seem to see the funny side/understand our ironic chants near the end, such as 'easy' and 'can we play you every week' and 'thats why we're top of the league' when scoring consolation tries. The vikings reaction was one of bemusement... Well i thought it was funny!

They are probably not used to so many visiting supporters singing along under such disappointing circumstances. I thought it was really good for the fans to behave in this way after so many negative threads about them recently.
Message to the Widnes fans....get rid of the drummer, then we could have a chance to hear your lyrical prowess for terrace singalongs.

Although I agree, the other end of the North stand was bouncing tonight.

| imo u cant tell whose the better coach until grand final day, thats the biggy. But 2 say cullen has more money is just stupid, for 1 he inherited the majority of that team and 2 rumour has it that penky, gleeson, goddard, black, shad, beswick are on mega bucks 4 this level. But im not saying that the likes of webster and a few others arent either at widnes.

All Calland has done so far is start the season like a house on fire , make smart comments about how much better Fax are than the rest and sit back and think he's the bees knees . In the first 3 games between us there was not much to choose between the teams , tonight you were poor . The best team won .
The Vicar'"
still 2-2 this season though in the meetings. should be good in the play offs the decider.

It's funny that, 'cos the group I was with said the same thing more or less to Faxlad66 and his mates about some of the smellies lacking their well known sense of humour. They wanted to give us the bird all the match but didn't expect any of it back 'cos we were losing.
Having said that, they must have a sense of humour to continue living there....

| Although I couldn't make it over last night, I fear that the momentum has indeed shifted towards Widnes and fair play to them.
I must continue to say though, when we are underconfident, we need that STAND OFF even more than ever. How we expect to win this league with our hot-potch formations of (undoubtedly skillful and talented) half backs goodness only knows. The pack needs to know we have a focused rugby brain at first receiver each time knowing we will go forward at the right time and in the right areas.
Not a criticism as such but Mr Calland, is there really no option available to fill this absolutely critical role? Comments like 'play such-and-such at stand-off' are well intended I have no doubt, but if we are to win this league and beat an emerging Widnes team, we need to get a grip and more importantly, some direction and marshalling on the pitch.
Who do you need Mr Calland and how do you intend to get him? Nobody will be put out or offended by bringing in such a man as it is absolutely a pre-requisite. It's gonna be a rough ride if not.
Sorry, moan over.

I agree yes we do. Don't you think games like last night we missed Graham Holroyds leadership and organisation?

NO Holly wouldn't have been effective 'cos we didn't complete our sets or gain field for his kicking game to take effect and threaten the opposition. They would have targeted his defence, I was quite surprised that they only scored 42 points, they even kicked their last two penalties, they beat us in every dept apart from James Haley, he was magnificent in defence, he scored two tries and retrieved three short kick offs which they couldn't combat.
Holly wouldn't have made a bit of difference to the positive last night . On the other hand, I think Govin when fit is a good enough stand off to fit into our play, I presume he's injured.
