| Quote: Greg Florimos Boots "Come on now even the most biased fan can admit that Quinns crowds are an embarassment. I mean with all that catchment area to their selves you would think they may get a few more in the gates. At least the Cats have had the crowds to justify a place in SL.'"
Didn't say we weren't a disgrace on the crowd front. Never have defended the clubs inability to attract bums on seats either, but what I did do, was respond to the friendly visit by the original poster who decided to start the same conversation on our board.
On the topic of crowds....please feel free to re-read the first line of my post above.........if you still don't understand the licence process, essentially, you get 1 point for 40% capacity and 1 point for a 10k average....the rest are awarded for youth development, competitiveness, decent ground etc..etc........therefore, we got in on merit.
I do appreciate your concern about our crowds, but please rest assured, we are OK with the SKY wedge and have cut our cloth accordingly (this time )

| I have no qualms about the Bronquins travelling support, to be honest, how many of us could or even would travel 200 miles to a game every other week? A credit to their club the away travellers are, never had any grief off them and are just as much 'traditional' rugby fans as our neighbours along the M62 corridor who we have had trouble with in the past.
It's the poor home attendances which are the real dissappointment. The move from Griffin Park back to the Stoop was met with the fans as negative as they said most of the fans lived in close proximity to the ground and were settled, whereas the club said the fans would flock to the new idendity at a 'permanant' ground. This really hasn't happened.
On the pitch though they do play great rugby with an ever growing number of Englishman and Londoners coming into the first team.
I'm not going to Toulouse this weekend, does that make me as bad as the Bronquins fans who aren't going to the South of France?

What...they have no history. Now, fulhamcrusaderbroncoquins.....we have a heritage
Back handed compliment my friend, make your mind up.
As for crowds well don't believe all that you read, teams have been inflating gates for the very reason you have written, to tick boxes for SL.
I wish that the RFL would stop this rubbish and ask for TRUE crowd figures, as in those who actually attend the game, but they won't cos they want to publish good crowds.
Like Celtic Crusaders really have got 3700 average gates???
I spoke to a Wigan fan and he said they took around 2K which was over half the crowd yet the gate was said to be something like 5700.
Yer right.

We were talking to a Toulouse administrator who said their crowds were between 2500 & 3500 this season. I've not seen a crowd figure announced yet for Saturday night but there sure as hell wasn't that many. I'd say we had about 400 fans there and accounted for about a third of the crowd.

Whilst there have been some strange crowds announced, at the Stoop this year, we seem to be "under declaring" I can understand the temptation to overdeclare crowds but that comes with the added tax bill, so are the benefits really that good to risk your fanancial stability? Why we are underdeclaring is a mystery to me, unless, as you say, we have previously overdeclared and are now being more truthfull....which is shamefull if true (and stupid, as we were always going to get a licence anyway).Good effort to take 400+ to 2lose BTW....(not a backhanded compliment BTW)

| I would say the crowd was around 1,400 with maybe 350/400 from Fax.

| Its also worth pointing out that Celtic and Quins fans aren't used to paying to watch their team or travelling...
Im sure the RFL would have given away free tickets for anyone that new what a rugby ball looked like if they could have.
I bet Siddal would have taken more to Catalan than Celtic or Quins could manage...
This age of jokers running RFL will not stand well in the History books.
At least they play RL in the south of France and love it, kick out the Welsh and Londoners.... population 10 million v people interested in RL 10(willing to pay to watch)

see.....after 13 posts you are already coming accross as an uneducated anti-expansionist pillock.
Regardless of what goes on at Celtic, Quins fans do pay to get in. Local Kids get free tickets and they generally add 200 to the gate. As for travelling fans and paying for it.....9,000 miles last year was the average for the away crew. Unlike a heartland club, where you can jump on a bus or train for 30 minutes to an away game, some Quins fans travel 50 miles + to a home game.
I do not understand the attitude of certain fans from "traditional" clubs when it comes to franchising. Yes, you follow your club and yes, you want to see the best rugby on offer, but let's face it, your last year in SL makes our crowds look like the masses led by moses
I believe Widnes will get the nod next time and if there are 2 places up for grabs, you and 2lose will be in the frame, but flatearth posts like the one above do you or your club no favours in the RL community. If you don't believe me, please point out the sympathetic threads for leigh....who spat their dummy out publicly when they didn't get in and now find themselves potentially looking at an away fixture v London Skolars next year.

Good point. Not sure we would be having this kind of debate if Fax had gotten into SL. I think the main point that JustThe BasicFax is tryin to make is that expansion for expansions sake, and at the sacrifice of heartland clubs, some of which have been in existance for over 130 years. If it was a 2 division league, with promotion and relegation and ALL clubs had the same rules then there would be no problems.
