A little generous I feel.

I have heard that the Councils main H&S issue was car parking. . two lots of fans trying to use the Shay Car Park. . shame they didnt ask Halifax RLFC about this as I understand they were booking the HBOS car park on Hunger Hill for Siddal and Widnes fans to use and the Shay Car Park for the second game.


I think its just the Stadium Management trying to be bloody minded yet again

In todays Courier Byrnes says it will take 4 hours to get the pitch ready for the second game

How come Cardiff, Widnes, Warrington, Headingley Edinburgh etc etc dont need 4 hours preparation between two games of rugby?

When we played a game on the same day as Halifax Town, how long was there between the games then? when the pitch had to be re-marked, posts changed ect, Was only about 4 hours at the Very most, probably less, so to do essentially what they do at half time of a regular match should not take 4 hours,

4 hours? It would take me about half an hour to flatten the divots created by the Widnes plodders.

Didn't the council say Fax with new stand could get 10,000 fans in SL? Where are they going to park?

As stated above, the HBOS multi storey car park is always available to open if needed and with plenty of on street parking freely available on Sundays, there is no problem with parking.
Just certain council members making a decision to create a problem that didn't exist in the first place.

That's exactly what I mean! You can't say can hold 10k and then knock back this for reasons like parking, what 3k max for this one?

The clubs haven't knocked anything back. It's one council member who had his ego knocked back over his initial announcement and he has come up with this stupid announcement as his reply.

Obviously a sad man, with no interest in moving the town forward on the sporting front.

He's not a council member, he's the 'sports services manager' whatever that is.

Councillors may be more sympathetic as they're answerable to the people who elect them. This council 'officer' is unelected.

Having had experiences of dealing with Mr Byrnes in the past I can say that this is typical. When it comes to money to be made he makes the wrong decision that gets peoples backs up. He's useless!! A complete and utter numpty!
