Nooooooooooo don't use that horrible rubbish name Humberside which was binned years ago and no longer exists after the locals who never liked the name quite rightly got their proper name back, East Riding of Yorkshire.
Don't get like James Roberts in the Courier he uses that old name too, its Yorkshire end of story.
Will it be played over in Hull I wonder?

| I have happy memories of my lad scoring the winning try for KXP U12's at Myton Warriors in the semi final of the Yorks cup the year they won it against West Hull in the final about five years back they played at a RU club called Marist at the time, not a bad little set up if i recall correctly. I can't see Myton giving up home status to travel over here.
The Hull sevice area used to host junior rep games at another RU ground this side of the river, we've been there a couple of times with junior sides, I can't just remember what it's called but it's no worse than some of the lower end of the championship stadia nowadays.

| Quote: jamesy "Hi all, i play for Myton Warriors . We are from Hull, North Hull to be precise. We are very happy to draw the biggest club in the Championship! All the lads listened to the draw on radio at training tonight! As you say, clubs need to have covered stands etc to host the game. Hull amatuer clubs have hosted teams before using Hull FC or Hull KR grounds and also local rugby union club grounds. Obviously if this is not possible or if better for all parties the game would be switched.
One of your players Anth Thackerey is and ex Myton Warriors junior player!
Anyways look forward to playing you next week, in the mean time please visit our website to have a read about our club:
Great stuff! Thanks for that. Here's hoping for a great day out in the Challenge Cup - wherever it may be.

| I think in the past some of the Hull Area sides have hosted games at Craven Park, and going a bit further back, The Boulevard and Boothferry Park.
Would be good for them if they are able to host the game over there, but even if the tie does have to be switched i'm sure a good number of them will come to The Shay and the Halifax Club have always been very hospitable to the amateur sides that have switched games to The Shay in the past.

| There will be 3 options on ground over in Hull that have RFL approval. There is Craven Park - although I feel East Hull will play there on the Saturday. Hull KR are at home on the Sunday.
Hull clubs could maybe use Hull YPI - where Hull FC play academy games - it has a small stand; more likely it will be Hull Ionians RU ground - this has hosted Challenge Cup games before, meets RFL standards and can accommodate over 1500.

Myton have just advised that the game will be played @ The Shay Sunday 25th March with a 3:00pm KO. So we look forward to coming over next week and hope your supporters turn out as they normally do for the league games. www.pitchero.com/clubs/mytonwarr ... 36122.html

| ...and what's slightly embarrassing is that Fax don't even have the draw on our web-site, never mind details of when and where it's going to be played.

| Sensible decision to move it to The Shay. With a shared gate Myton will want the best payday possible as any amateur club would and the gate will be much bigger than playing it in Hull.
Also, if I was a Myton supporter or player, I would consider it far more of an occasion with a trip to a big stadium than just playing it at home.

| Anyone know why season tickets aren't valid ?
They have been for this round in previous years whether we were drawn home or away.

| Junior Season Tickets remain valid for the Carnegie Challenge Cup up to the 1/4 Final.
That is intended to encourage interest in young supporters.
Including the first Cup match your Club plays in the Season Ticket was a bright idea from the RFL, intended to improve Challenge Cup Gates. The problem ( which certain SL Clubs in West Yorkshire still don't understand) is that something which costs you nothing, or appears to cost you nothing, is worth nothing.
The result was that it contributed to the reduction in gates.
The most obvious example of this scheme not working was Fax v Bulls last season. The Bulls insisted on taking their full allocation, collected an aggregate sum of approx £100 as they gave most of them away........ and at least 1500 people with those 'free tickets' didn't bother to attend.
The same reasoning causes large numbers of people with Bulls and Giants Season Tickets to miss more games than they attend.
