He was at a wedding abroad (that had been arranged before Matt left). Tbh, that wouldn't have made a difference, York just out-enthused us, and without Penky we lacked any go-forward.

In a funny sort of way, happy for York, 'cos they do play with passion and have always played with enthusiastic young players, and the Championship will be a better place for having them around next year if that's the result that keeps them up.

How do you think widnes/sheffield would have felt if york had turned down an easy last second penalty just because it didn't influence them personally. You had a (probably undeserved) bonus point in the bag with 2 seconds to go and give away a stupid penalty. Take it out on the player who gave away the penalty (cherryholme i think?) not York for taking an easy 2 points.

As soon as it started raining it was curtains. The only way we were going to score tonight was from throwing the ball about which we found impossible under the conditions. Simply weren't up for it enough to win through brute force

dissapointed tonight. we didnt help ourselves at all, attack was clueless unfortunately, no idea at all. I sat watching with my head in my hands most of the game. I dont think the officials helped much though a couple of massive blunders from what i saw but no excuse for the poor performance.

I thought Tim Roby refereed quite well considering the poor handling. My major complaint would be a skinny 10, but good players can play in anything. We simply weren't good enough tonight and some players need a boot up the ar$e.

Commented myself about the skinny 10, and we only really looked good when we started getting some quick play the balls from dummy half. Credit to York for killing this part of our game.

yes a rather skinny 10 i thought also, i thought the ball was stripped off white when 2 men were involved in the tackled as esders tackled and the other player touched him,which i was told meant that he was classed as being involved in the tackle which would make 2 tacklers and it, therefore it is illegal? dont know if this is correct? dont believe it would have made much difference to the game though.

I too thought that the second tackler leaving go of the attacker didn't mean that you could then progress with a 1 on 1 strip of the ball, but I'm sure someone here must know the rules??

Maybe wrong, but if we'd scored first after half-time, we may have settled down and gone on to win....

Can't say much really but we have just lost to one of the worst teams ever at this level... They are so poor and we got bullied, out enthused and out skilled. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeite on all fronts...
