| Lets just say, the football club are quite unhappy about the way the bid had gone on for 18 months and they have only been informed by TA and council in the last 3/4 weeks. They are consulting their lawyers to clarify position. Would rather council ownership. That's the gist of it so far.

I am annoyed with the Halifax Town Board as they hide behind the Council and rugby club, the facts are that they have been fully consulted on this but chose to say otherwise. The are stoking the fires imo

Certain members of the council and TA have been in talks for 18 months. FC Halifax town only heard of the bid 3-4 weeks ago. Please read the supporters club twitter to get the full facts from the halifax town board.

Of course they are stoking the fire. They haven't anything in writing/legal from the council or mr
Abbott. they have requested a sales pack from the council.

I think that Town fans will believe anything their Board say and will not believe anything either the Council or Reactiv say. The same Town Board that have put up the price to watch Conference football to £17 minimum as I have found out when I have been down to watch the Shaymen, maybe thats why there were only 1100 Town fans down last night as Grimsby brought 518.
Do you think even if the Council or Tony Abbot said exactly what has gone on in a public meeting Town fans would believe them?
I don't as they are totally biggoted against the rugby club end of story, sad really.
The thing is the Council are loisng money on the Shay over £200K per year, so as a Council taxpayer I think they should sell it, remember there are more non sports fans that are Council taxpayers and if they start wading in then the Council will have to sell it anyway.

There is no deal done yet so how can either put things in writing yet and tie it down legally?
This is the Councils stadium as well neither Town or Fax actually have a say in its sale other than an assurance they can still stay as tenants and the type of deal they are likely to have regards rent and its usage.
Town fans have to get this out of their heads that it is their stadium as its not.

Are you in support of certain councillors and TA, trying to do a deal on the sly without having to consult the full
Council in a vote?

Jeeeeeeeeez, on the sly???
Do you really think that the guy would not consult one of the two tenants, really???
As I say the Town Board are being naughty as they don't want an 'outsider' to them owning the ground especially one with ties to the RL club, the Council will do this the right way as its a public asset and there is no way anybody can do any 'deal' without the legal boffins running the rule over it so there is no way anything 'underhand' would ever go on.
Goodnight as nothing i say will chnage your already made up mind, the sad thing is the Council have no money and losing money on the Shay will have consequneces non of us will like, like cutbacks and no more investment.

YOU CAN LEARN FROM THE PAST BUT NOT RELIVE IT.YOU CAN HOPE FOR THE FUTURE BUT CAN NEVER BE SURE THERE WILL BE ONE.: |
|
| The majority of people I know who are not fans of either Town or Fax could not care less about the Shay apart from the fact that it costs them as part of their Council Tax . If more people and children were allowed/encouraged to use the Shay instead of it being used as some kind of private members club then the people of Halifax might have a bit more empathy with the place . All I get is " they wouldn`t let my lad play on their turf we had to go elsewhere and I`m a rate payer" So let`s hope TA buys the place and makes it a place all Calderdale people feel welcome and proud of I am sure he could do a better job than what`s happening at the moment . Having a place where the sum of around 1,500 use it once a week and 1,500 use it every other week while it costs the ratepayers £200,000 per year will not be allowed to go on much longer .

| This would be the Halifax Town board that turns down sponsorship from Tony Abbott, refuses to work or have much to do with Fax in anyway shape or form - remember Mal saying he offered to help them with a fan shop and they didnt want to know. The Soccer club and many of its followers are a set of bigoted nuptys who would rather blame Fax and the Council for their woes rather than accept the truth. The muppets obviously dont want The Shay to go to Tony Abbott mainly because he is a Fax director. The Shay is not their stadium and never will be. We are squatters according to them even though we both are tenants. Its very clear that the Soccer club and fans will never ever mae life easy for us and certainly not for Tony Abbott even if he ticked all the boxes where they have concerns.

| A few points. The sponsorship you talk about, is actually a match sponsorship in a very recent game against barnet. The
Club politefully declined as they cordially pointed out that in the current climate of them being not really in the know about the shay. They said As soon as the dust had settled from all this about the shay they would be more than happy to engage in sponsorship. At this point TA said is my money not good enough and then proceeded to run to courier and say what he said.
As for the club shop the football club have always stated they wanted to incorporate offices in to the back of the shop space, as to not have to employ staff to just run shop and could incorporate office staff as sales staff. We are a part time organization.
Our chairman has nothing against the rugby club, he will admit he's not media savvy and has made mistakes. But he is honest and hardworking and approachable.
As someone who had a rugby upbringing in australia. And was a semi regular attendee at shay to watch rugby. I find some comments on here as bad and insulting as what you claim to find on football forum.
