Aye, that looks worth a few bob on Wakefield, sadly.

| Result just as predicted and to Trin on winning the Shield.
There was only about a 10 minute spell in the second half we’re we competed at all, the rest was just one way traffic and with the game already gone maybe better not going for 3 or 4 short kick offs and conceding on everyone to try and keep the points difference down which could be crucial in the final league positions.

| Men v boys today.
And coach must have picked mom or it was based on who missed most tackles, gave away most penalties.
The new lad from Doncaster runs half his weight. But not helped by our coaching. I could see he was gassed, giving penalties away, dropping off tackles, but coach waits till that leads to a try conceded before substitution, and did the same with Fairbank.

| Thought we did okay to be fair. Trinity were just far more clinical but thats what you should get when you spend as much money as they have. I reckon we will just have to get one more win besides the Dewsbury one and at the very worst that would have us in the play off. It would be nice to pick up a shock win against Donny or Bradford though to avoid everything been on the Haven game.

Not sure I agree there, greg. It got to the stage at the end when Wakey just needed to do basic passing along the line to break us, it was painful to watch, and they looked like scoring on every set. Are we really that bad? I think we are tbh. Worst season since 2004, I'm not enjoying going at all, I wanted to go to the pub after half an hour!

Yeah I would agree after about a quarter of the second half but I think we all expected that but up to that point I thought we performed better than we did at Swinton, not that hard to be fair I know.
Im not sure I remember 2004 been this bad as with the signing of Ben Black at least we had the odd glimpse of magic in games but this season there is very little to get excited about.

| What was wrong with Boyer? I would have thought he would have added much more punch than Davies who got badly shown up against Wakey, so much so he even got subbed (usually an 80 minuter that's why Finn loves him so much). Also AOB doesn't seem right. Is he carrying an injury?

The rumor was that it was from the fall out of 3 of them going out last Saturday night but who knows but without a doubt he would have offered more than Davies.

| Wakey just reminded me of The Leigh side a couple of seasons ago. Too big too strong against a poor part time side. I did like the Jouffret kick from the scrum early doors just a shame Keyes couldn't finish. These next 5 games are a lottery for me anything could happen we just need to find a way to get enough points to keep us up but if we do go down then Finn and the vast majority of the squad should go.

I don't think we'll have a choice, we won't be able to afford them. I suppose the irony of relegation is that we'll lose less money even with lower crowds as we'll shed loads of players.

| Just watching the game on playback, there were some moves and situations, the kicking both from hand and restarts was mixed for a change( half a season too late), Keyes unlucky in first half when running onto a kick from L J when Fax took a scrum instead of a kick for touch, although a tad early to try and tire the opposing big boys out, but it does tie them up. Unfortunately they were given a lesson in simple game plan, pass and move, and were not helped by some strange refereeing decisions. Ultimately too little too late although Trinity were deserved winners Fax were a tad lucky, bounce of the ball, ball not going to hand. However soft defending gave easy yards and points away. If they had played like that against most other teams they would not be in this pickle.

Pretty fair assessment and as I said before add to that taking the short kick off option at that stage of the game when your tiring was perhaps not the right one which shipped in another 3 or 4 scores.
I mean maybe try it once but when you can’t keep them from going full length there’s less chance in doing it from half way or on one occasion when not even making the 10 and conceding the penalty and defending from inside your own 20.
That huge point swing against has now put us behind some of our closest relegation rivals where every point could be crucial.
As playing to a level and avoiding the pickle we’re in that has been the problem and will be tested again this week and so on to the end of the season.
All are games that if Fax were anywhere near close to their best they could get the result, problem is we have rarely been anywhere near close to our best all season.
