Their kicking game was a lot better than ours but the ref gave them so much in the first half we were never going to come back from it. Pretty frustrating affair today but Widnes looked very poor, will be lucky to make the MPG if they keep playing like that.

Game lost in the first half too much dropped ball and you can't defend for so long against SL opposition. If we try and do that against Warrington next week they will run 70 on us. By the time we did get going the game was gone but if we had got the decision from the Grix try or ball steal we would have had them worried because they were there for the taking and in reality given how much they have spent look no better than a top championship team. As was mentioned after the game again it is also very difficult for the players who seem to be playing under a different set of rules than they have all season.

Be reasonable, 36-12 ain't a bad result against a "pretender", is it?

We got put back in our box today by a pretty average team but Super League 'class' or more like full time fitness showed today.
We did play it a bit dumb though by giving away silly penalties and throwing silly balls at nobody (stand up Shane Grady). First half we only got in their half twice and never threatened their line at all and worryingly Muzza was hardly in the game with Johnno running around as he does without causing them much trouble.
That interception by Ben Heaton gave us some confidence and as somebody said we are a confidence team and we did then put them under pressure and should have scored more tries really, their defence was pretty good but we then gave them cheap ball again and that killed us you can't tackle all afternoon.

We were it half time, we had no ball in first half and the little we had was in poor position so always chasing the game. I stand by my comment, I thought Widnes were poor and will struggle in their remaining games.

I don't think Widnes got out of 2nd gear today and still won comfortably. Craven and Mellor have both been out injured for a few mths and a few more games partnership they will be much better. Got to admit Betts is a rubbish coach and I have wanted him gone for years. He should play Danny Walker at hooker over Johnstone and you would see quicker play around the ruck.

Don't think the team should be too down-beat after yesterday, it just didn't click on the day. Widnes were clinical and took their chances, and just didn't give us a sniff that first half. They looked nervous and if we had scored first who knows.

Poor crowd, we've got a bit unlucky with the teams we've got at home. Fev at home likely to be bigger crowd than two super league teams!

From what I have seen of Widnes this year that is about the best you have got, Im not sure there is a 3rd gear let alone 4th. Luckily Leigh losing to KR should save you from the MPG.

I would not be too sure of that, they have to play both KR and Leigh, the Leigh game could be massive for both of them and I think it's at Leigh, and do they have Catalan always as well?

Could be Leigh V Widnes then as I would expect Hull KR to beat them. If I had a choice I think Id rather Leigh came down simply because of their better following. Saying that Catalans could still slip up.
