I think last season if they had played the required number of games for the Championship club then they could play for either the SL side or the Championship side during the 8's but had to choose which one at the start of the 8's and stick with them.

I have seen it mentioned that this has now changed and they can continue to play for both teams throughout the 8's which seems wrong. Could allow the SL team to call back or send out their best DR players on a week by week basis to influence results in the 8's. Seems unlikely but not impossible.

never a fan of DR. but even worse is letting two full time clubs DR. to me that defeats all its supposed to achieve.

Totally agree and I also dislike DR it discourages clubs developing their own players and it certainly is driven for purely financial reasons meaning clubs don't have to have a Reserve grade/U23s set up, a short sighted move and is hurting the sport of RL as young players are being lost.
It also does not help the smaller clubs really as the DR players are never theirs and lets be honest some are just being used for game time for fringe players by SL clubs.
Go back to the loan set up and a Reserve grade/U23 team for all SL and those below who can afford one

Applying the 8 game rule will make a difference. I wonder how many DR players in 2015 would have qualified to stay with their DR club for the middle 8s. I would hazard a guess at not very many.

Can't believe we're going down this route. An unfortunate side effect of the complete balls we made of last season.

We are totally on our uppers and would struggle to field a team without some ringers from Leeds I fear.

Why don't we just get all the fit players in front of the school playground fence and let the coaches take turns to pick players every Friday morning ?
