Outrageously insulting to all those brave souls in places like Hull and Middlesbrough who fought - successfully - for over thirty years to be recognized as part of Yorkshire, instead of "Humberside" and "Cleveland" .

The old traditional counties still exist they have only been replaced by administrative areas for councils and the Post Office's convenience, so technically we are still in the West Riding of Yorkshire.
I think Cumbria has stuck but there are those in Saddleworth and Redcar who still have allegiance to Yorkshire.

Only time Griff has been with anyone when it comes up Rugby League.
