Fev rested a load of players as well. Batley fans were on Radio Whinos and going off like they had won the league. Batley will do well but doubt will win the league. As for Blacks comments well new player at club always come out with lines like never been as fit and training is harder than ever before. What players say take with a pinch of salt. Fev are still the team to beat and Powell will get them winning cups and not just dead rubber games.

Don't know about Ben Black being out of shape but he sure walloped down a 3 course meal in the top house before the FEV v Batley game. And that takes some doing. On the game itself. Easy to sum up. The Batley players ran on the pitch and thought "wet muddy day, 5 drives and a kick today lads" FEV on the other hand ran out and thought "lovely sunny day, lets throw the ball about" and they did, ALL GAME!!!!. 19 dropped ball compared to Batleys 1. Idiots, bl00dy idiots. Big congrat to Batley, they maybe or may not be a better team than FEV but they are a hell of a lot smarter.

we did beat fev , but as they say one swallow doesnt make a summer , lets wait n see , theres lots of tough games to come , but things are lookin ok for the dogs , Mr kear with held a few players knowing we had a hard game 4 days later , so from previous week there was no baz smith , gaz moore , ben black , danny maun , jason walton , ash lindsey , alex walmsley , john walker and we did ok , wether it was fev that hadnt got over the hard game with you , or us who were good we shall learn as the season progresses , but im sure the 2 games against fax will be crackers

Batley look like a very good outfit to me, they were +8 on sky bet on the handicap and 2-1 for the win. I was all over that like a rash, a tenner on the batley win and stuck the handicap in as part of an accumulator. I was a little concerned to find them 10-0 down after 6 mins but they came good. John kear looks to have them very well organised, as for Leigh im not convinced on Rowley as a coach, he just doesnt seem to cut it somehow.

As for PR as a coach .....Leigh lost by a whopping 6 pts on the opening day League fixture.
