| As I understand it, the problem with the North Stand is that the crush barriers, instead of being set into the concrete terracing, are bolted to the risers and have subsequently worked loose. I also seem to remember that the cost of resolving this issue was around the 40 grand mark. Can anyone confirm / dispute this?
If this is the case it would be peanuts to resolve should we be accepted into SL.
People have continually asked when they ( CMBC ) are going to sort it but, to be fair, it has not been high on the priorities list as neither Fax or FCHT are currently anywhere near requiring the additional capacity.

| I've heard rumours from a number of people all pointing towards the decsion being possitive for HRLFC.
I cannot see the issue with the north stand being a major problem with our application, as im sure that part of our bid is more than up to scratch compared to Cas, wakey and the like. Especially after Hudds cheif ex and players commenting, and saying how brilliant the facilities and playing suraface at the Shay now are. W have proved we can hold top level rugby.
let it happen

Also the fact that the Giants were given the green light by the RFL to play their games at the Shay and Sky have had couple of them screened live must say that the ground, facilities etc are of an exceptable standard for SL.

EXACTLY.
we have already ticked the box for the stadium and facilities anyway. so i cant see this been an issue.
if and it is 'if' we have an interested party with deep pockets, i can see us been given the go ahead. we would bring just as much if not more to SL than alot of current members.

| It's be plans for full youth set up ready to roll that could be a deciding spot tbh.
Let's be honest due to location Quins, Salford & Cru are safe. Say Wakey already gone leaves you up against Cas who will be hoping full new stadium plans signed off immanently. Would the RFL lose a full time fully functioning youth set up if not at least replaced by another? Never mind they are a top 8 side.
Personally I'd pump for you ahead if Salford perhaps but their 'Manchester' lovation and finally new ground will see them safe.

I think that if we get the Nod then it would be a great opportunity for Brian Noble to recruit and get back into SL as a coach, perhaps that is why he is still with us and will be until at least end of July.
If i were in his position thats what i would be doing for sure. He would surely be given first refusal.
17 July NR cup winners, thats 3 lots of silverware in 2 years, Northern Rail Nines, 2010 Champions and NRC champions,
26th July - We are SL
27th July - Noble is FT coach. ( not disrespecting Matt Calland but he has a full time job )

| There are a couple of things that put some doubt in my mind and one of them goes back to the day Widnes were given the nod and as far as I'm concerned and a lot of others on here said fair enough.
What i can still clearly remember when Richard Lewis was talking about their appointment he was absolutely beaming from cheek to cheek with enthusiasm about Widnes, his smile was that wide he looked like he had gone to bed with a coat hanger in his mouth.
When the interviewer mentioned Halifax and the fact that they had also ticked the boxes and met all the criteria it was like turning the light off, the smile quickly dissapeared and the very formal rhetoric speech took over, no enthusiasm, no big raps, it looked like he had just been told he only had 2 weeks to live, the body language said we have no chance.
Not long to wait so here's hoping.

In all fairness, that press conference was about Widnes. Although we were mentioned, it was their moment in the limelight and their moment to celebrate.
i just have a feeling something is going on and it may well rock the boat
