| Thats the point, its very easy for 'new' posters to come out with false information. I will happily discuss the situation at FC Halifax Town with anyone but its a shame my point about the Fax Trust is ignored.
Dont get me wrong, I aint saying that the Fax Trust is made up of bad people. They are great supporters of the club but they are wrongly badging themselves as a Supporters Trust when they simply do not follow the aims and objectives of a trust. A Supporters Club would be a better way to describe themselves when they simply raise money to hand over to the club. It is so far removed from the reasons it was initially set up by Adie and the lads.

| thats always the trouble on these boards, i am sure people read what they wnat to read and not what is written
Perception is king!
Miss Information is a more sexy creatre than Mr Fact!
Point "of" View is just that, many convince themselves that there point of view is actually Fact!
Tecnical understandings of most companys, business, organisational bodies is lost on most, we are fans at the end of the day that just want our team to win and the game day experience to be furfilling, however we cannot exist without the rules and regs that bind us together! life is not a black and white answer after all! but we dont half like to make out it is!

Wrong, I am a potential member. There should be no view that if someone is not a member then their opinion does not count. Point made.

| I don't always agree with Bubba but I can say as one of "the lads" that set up the Supporters Trust with Adie (we had a couple of ladies too!) our aim was to gain representation on the board of Halifax RLFC (at that time) and we achieved a little success in getting a fans representative on the board for a short while, albeit our original intention of buying shares was kiboshed when Tony Gartland sold his shares to the club for a £1. - Thus rendering our initial intention void.
However the dynamic of the club changed after Stephen Pearson (he hated the idea and was very much against our group) and it has allowed us to put some funds in the clubs direction that allowed the likes of Ben Black to come back over etc. It may not be fulfilling its original agenda but as a founder of the Supporters Trust I am proud what it has gone on to achieve and how it has helped the club and the relaionship it now has with the club.
It has allowed people who wouldn't necessarily give the club money directly due to ill feeling another platform to help the club and that for me is a good thing as it has restored some faith.

I dont dispute that Chris. My point is that it shouldnt badge itself as a Supporters Trust when it clearly isnt.
One scenario, say in a years time, the club is on the verge of administration or worse, it is months behind with its stadium rent, cant afford players wages, etc. A Trust should be there to safeguard the future of the club and handing over its funds to potentially aid the club in overspending means should the hit the fan the Trust wont have any funds for emergency purposes - which was surely the very reason Fax Trust and most others Trusts up and down the country were formed in the first place?

Actually a Supporters Trust's role is to promote sustainable spectator sports clubs based on supporters' involvement & community ownership. Therefore our original agenda was to look at potentially buying the club or shares within it as Stephen Pearson had made the club a "community" club. When the current board changed that the trusts role had to be different. By donating cash to the club on approval from its members the trust is effectively enabling the club to run as a sustainable business and is fulfilling its criteria as a Trust.

How is it? Nobody knows whether the club is solvent, insolvent, sustainable or otherwise. Supporters' Trusts arent there to help prop up clubs that are living beyond their means. I aint suggesting HRLFC are, but purely handing money over, no questions asked, is not giving a voice to the supporters.

Well done and good luck to anyone who takes the time and effort to raise money for the club or the profile of the club IMO
