Belittle the club all you like. Established in 1875, we have never been bankrupt, own our stadium, been to 5 Challenge Cup finals, won 2 Lancashire Cups and produced many international players.

Oh, and we are currently in posession of The Championship League Leaders Shield



The only real lean times in the clubs' history were from 1991 - 2007/2008 (with a surprise NL2 Championship win in 2005).

You should care whats going on at Barrow before you get left behind, you thought only Widnes would be a threat to your SL bid, well now you have Barrow & Toulouse to worry about too.

FYI Sir Dessie of Furnessshire only helped to fund our success as our side has been 75% local produced untill this season as several quaility out of towners arrived.

Who is funding it now,,Let me tell you we have signed up approx 400 new lottery subscribers in the last few weeks thats nearly 20 grand per year by its self.

There is no one else a threat to ours or anybody elses SL bid other than Widnes. People shouldnt kid themselves that anyone else will get a look in.

Barrow know themselves that the Ground isn't upto scratch for a Super League Bid, That is the Achilles Heel for them, until they get that sorted they'll never have a chance.

Of course we know that. We're the fans that stand on the terraces there every 2 weeks or so, so we know better than anyone what state the ground is in. We don't need other teams' fans to keep banging on about it TBH.

There's 2 years yet to license applications. A lot can happen in that time and there are plans to redevelop the ground. Now we have 'ticked' the box (hate that phrase BTW), the wheels can be set in motion. For starters, I'm led to believe that the new floodlights (over and above SL standard) will be in situ for the 2010 season.

Unless Cas AND Wakey get booted out, the Yorkshire Championship clubs don't have a chance IMO. Just look at the number of clubs east of the pennines and then read the RFL's expansionist vision. The two don't sit together I'm afraid.

You mean the 3 World Cup Fijians who couldn't get Visa's because they had to sit an English exam (even though their first language is English)??

We had signed them on 2 year deals (and hold their RL registrations), so I suppose in theory they could arrive next season. Although I doubt it, as 2 of them play RU for Fiji now.
