Here, here although can somebody please explain the knock on rule?
That Fev player blatantly lost control of the ball before their third try I think it was but as it was backwards??? the Ref allowed play on.
Yet other times a player loses the ball and the Ref says knock on, even though it did go backwards.
Confused

| Stop blaming the Ref. Penky tried to get the ball one on one on the 4th tackle and unfortunately for him it popped out or the Fev lad let it go...any of our players would have done the same. The Ref made the right call and we lost cos we were not good enough on the day.
I hate saying it but he had a pretty decent game so why do we always look to blame someone else.
Rant over!!!

Penky was stupid, yer try the ball steal he could have saved the game but he kept hold too long and whether the ball popped out or not he gave the Ref little option but penalty and Fev 6 more tackles and we lost the ball in that set of six.
Discipline lads costs us big time, learn lessons.

They tackled brilliantly but thats where we need a clever stand off that does not rely on us battering them or predictable chip overs like what Blacky tried and did not come off. We need somebody that can use the ball, shimmies and dropped shoulders and make them commit, they were coming in very quick and we just kept running it short at them.
Blacky kept passing the ball to Cherryholme to run at them, it didn't work.
Credit to Fev though, tackilng does win you games as you stick in there and take your chances when they come and they did, learn Halifax, learn.
RL is a simple game. Yer we are great to watch but we will win rock all if we don't respect the ball and use the pitch when its tight, like why did Blacky try that chip over in our own half which then gave them possesion back and they were up to our twenty in two tackles to set up a try from??

| The Fev lad's hand came out, he was quite clearly playing for the penalty and it worked. Also, how were we offside WITH the ball on our own 10m line? 2 penalties that cost us points. No rant, I was just wondering. Another dropped ball contributing to another lost game. C'est la vie, we need to kick on.

From where I was sat I could clearly see that it was NOT a ball steal, but Laughton couldnt see properly and was not really helped by his touch judges.
I thought Laughton made a few dodgy decisions, both ways (we got the lions share of the silly decisions in the first half) but HE did not loose the second half 22 - 2.

Not blaming the ref, just wondered how we were offside seeing as we had the ball?

| I'm willing to say I would prefer Ganson to Ronnie but we were crap in the second half and that cost us the game not him. Despite that I was truly shocked that after 9 minutes he still hadn't penalized us and was looking forward to getting all the wrong decisions from him. Out of his first 3 decisions he got 2 of them wrong IMO but they were wrong in our favour so I'm not that bothered.

| Probably posted this on another thread, I can't remember. But I spent the entire match sat in the Skircoat in line with the try line at the North Stand side .... our discipline in the first half was excellent, no piggy back rides down the field and fev didn't look like scoring. The difference in the 2nd half was amazing. I cannot remember ONE decent chance by Fax at the NS end, we kept giving fev piggy backs to our line and what with the errors we were doomed.
Nowt to do with the ref. We dug our own grave
