But like you say there are 2 sides to every story, doesn't mean we have to go with yours'"
Firstly, that happens everywhere, but that's the judgement call of the boss to determine if he brings other things to the business that are otherwise lacking.
Secondly I totally agree, you may well be 100% correct as it's only opinions-but what is certain is things need to change..

Possibly not but there has been a lingering feeling within a lot of people for a while.
There is no shame in losing to Batley, but it is the matter in which we got beat that has upset people

Some players have more natural ability than others so don't have to work as hard (I've previously mentioned Paul Newlove who virtually didn't train at all but was one of GB's best ever centres). So what's the point in these naturally gifted players having to bust a gut in training when they don't really have to? Snookerer Ronnie O Sullivan hardly practices but is far better than rivals who practice 7 days a week. It's how it is.

Snooker isn't a team game though.

Irrelevant. I was arguing the point that some players don't need to train as hard as others. Will Messi and Ronaldo train their socks off? Maybe. Maybe not. To drop potential game breakers just because they don't work hard in training seems quite absurd to me. As long as they do the bizz on the day, it shouldn't really matter.

| But are they doing the business on the day, may bust the odd tackle which is what we fans see and stands out to us. But then they can't be a**d getting back into the defensive line (or aren't fit enough cos they don't train hard) so their teammates have to cover for them.

| Quote: Ilkley Fax "No I didn't go to the game although I don't doubt from the score that the performance was dire, or that we've had several below par performances this season - along with some really good ones. Over the time that he's been with us on balance I still feel that he's coached teams that have consistently produced some of the best rugby we've seen for several years, and as such has earned some slack which a lot on here seem unwilling to grant.
Confidence with both players and coach is obviously really fragile at the moment- supporters continually slagging them off is hardly likely to encourage an upturn in form or fortunes.
I understand that professional sport - even at this level is fairly cut throat and that ultimately this may well cost Grix his job - while I can accept we have different views on whether he should stay or go now - my main issue was your completely ludicrous assertion that he should "do the decent thing" and walk away from his contract - it may be sport but it's also his livelihood.'" It may well be ludicrous to you doing the right thing by the club when he has clearly lost the players confidence but not me. And It may well be a thing of the past where a coach or manager would fall on their sword instead of having to be sacked purely for financial reasons.

Think all that is widely exaggerated by our coach to match agenda-never saw the likes of Springer constantly struggling to retire yardage in defense, but was capable of shifting momentum like he did in the first game at PO road this season.
The lump at Batley on Sunday (ward ?) would never meet the Grix criteria at 3 stone overweight
but does more damage in ten minutes than our forward pack managed in 80.It's a team game
and you need players with different attributes.

Your argument would suggest a team full of Springers would have been beaten 60 nil at Batley.
Anyway, it's not working out at the mo but hopefully we'll turn things around this Sunday. A few weeks ago you'd never bet on Wakey beating Wigan and Hull winning at KR so maybe we're just going through a blip ourselves. Up the Fax!!

Sometimes you have to accept that some of your team mates have failings. I mean Greg Austin had a tendancy to be a little bit lazy in defense but he would likely be another one that would struggle under Grix because of it. At the back end of last season and all this season we have been crying out for a forward able to get his nose through a tackle and maybe create something with an offload out of a tackle, instead we got Dan Fleming.

| Yep, there seems to be too much emphasis on this hard work in training marlarky, which only seems to have raised its head recently. I do get it, of course I do, but quality trumps hard work imo and I'd rather have a team full of quality Springers who have a chance of winning rather than a team full of hard working Oakleys who probably haven't. Just imo!

| Springer quality haha. Dear me.
Austin lazy, maybe a perception, but I saw him make many cover tackles. And same was said by many of Chris Andserson when he always had hands on hips.
I agree things are not rosy at the moment. Some decisions made don't seem the right ones. But I don't buy into this devine right to win or that we have the 2nd/3rd best team on paper, or that I wouldn't swap any of our players with any other team....
Over the recent seasons when we have achieved my view is it has often been above expectation, driven by strong team ethic and in some instances fortune to get a roll on in results and maintain confidence. We are clearly rock bottom on confidence and RL has fine margins, you only have to be a small % off your game and you can get badly beaten.
We are missing leaders on the field, I guess one of reasons we have brought Adam O'brien in, whereas we used to have several on the field. Not only for direction on our plays etc but that motivational aspect when required.
As for listening to spin, like has been said before, there's 2 sides to every story, there's a lot of biased spin on here as well, but I'll put that down to having differing views and opinions. Some of us will be closer to the mark on somethings and not on others.

I wouldn't take any of our current props over him but for me personally I value been able to get on the front foot and get a roll on more than I do a list of training stats that I feel only tell half the story especially when our pack has been so easily dominated this season. It was quite ironic in the first game against Fev this season that his actions went a long way to beating us but some fans it seems would rather have your workhorse, give penalties away for fun, type forward over a game breaker.

Funny thing is I think any coach in any of the top 3 divisions could have coached us in to 6th place this season with the squad we have.....the better coaches in the division would have had us top 3.
