As much as you may be right, the fact is our pack is built to play in decent weather and has been for a number of seasons. It's not just a coincidence that we are slow starters pretty much every season but always seem to gather up enough momentum through the summer to get a decent league placing. I expect the same to happen again this season as it seems to be rinse and repeat of the last few seasons but in my opinion with nearly half of the season been played in poor conditions, especially good chance the main part is, then we need to have a balance for that as well and we simply do not have that and the style of rugby we play is horrible in those conditions as we have seen this season. For me that is soley down to the coach, trying to play dry weather condition rugby on nights like last Monday is just down right stupid, even full time players would struggle never mind part time ones and to me that is just down to a coach who is too stubborn to change.
Grix stubborness can be seen in how he continues to use Will Maher, can you imagine if Eribe Dorro or previously Ryan King or Springer were putting in performances like that? They were dropped straight away with excuses given about poor attitude or whatever yet we continuously watch someone play 20 minutes each game, do absolutley nothing, and get picked the following week. I can't believe what I am going to say is possible but there is no way he has it written in his contract that he must play every week he is fit can he? I mean thats such a stupid idea I don't think for one second it could be true but I just can't see how he justifies his place and can't understand Grix usage of him.

How do you see this unfolding in the future. Because if he doesn't change we will not progress as a team we will more than likely go backwards. Will he get frustrated and think he can not take the team any further forward and leave or will the board say this is not good enough and give him the boot. Just a point on the board from what they said at the fans forums they think Simon is one of the best coaches in the league so you would think he would have there backing. But for me this ongoing problem in the pack needs sorting one way or another.

| The sort of forward most people seem to want - big but still dynamic going forward are unfortunately mainly going to be playing in superleague - unless you're prepared to take a risk on superleague forward coming to end of their career. A massive risk as York and to some extent Featherstone found out last year. We might see one exception to this on Sunday - always been really impressed by Bailey Antrobus who I think is just on a one year contract with York.

| I too have been impressed by Bailey Antrobus at York he would for me be very welcome to join us. But it doesn't have to be a big forward for me just someone who runs like they want to burst a tackle as we saw with James Donaldson on Monday he is not the biggest but he runs hard.

| You could add Scurr from Bradford to that list - saw him warming up and he looked like a small stocky schoolboy - then came on and ran in like a train straight through our pack.

I honestly don't know. We just sit back and continue to enjoy the ride.

Black Backgrounds/Animal.gif My Humble Opinion Only - let the knockers begin.

| You don t always need oversized forwards as has been noted, however you do need guys running hard into the line when being passed to, it is hard to stop a player at pace then one just getting into his stride, an amount of bravery too, it is a pity some of our bigger guys don t have the ‘ balls’ like Salty or Wombat to name but two who will run into brick walls all day long,

| Wins a win but we look low on confidence but still managed to win comfortably. Maher finally dropped and the pack played well, Doro this years fall guy by the looks of it but hoping its injury rather than tactical. We need to start hitting some form soon though.

| Bit of a flat game from both players and fans alike . Obviously the focus was on completion and discipline which was better , balancing the expansive play with set completion and game management is the key . Positives were inman who laid a couple of tries on a plate for our forwards, walmsey who has improved on last season and his combo with maizen will provide a hatful of tries between them this season, although I think the Keyes kav combo is off and this means maizen rarely gets through a gap . Lannon looks difficult to handle and on that note would like him in the second row and kav rested with doro brought in on the bench . I’d like to see inman more involved in the last play kicking game as Keyes seems a little one dimensional in that regard. Overall we played well without breaking any pots , a big cup game awaits …

| Really flat game, after a decent start when Keyes looked a bit more like his old self, seemed to completely run out of ideas. Against a decent York pack our forwards especially Murray and Lannon stood up well, seems to be no confidence in the backs - if we could put players like Maizen into gaps rather than just asking them to run through brick walls we might fo better. Without their regular halves or fullback York never really posed a threat until Tibbs injury left a huge gap down his wing. Very disappointing crowd especially in view of the good number of York fans. I stupidly ended up sitting in the middle of a large number of these - they were very loud, a bit annoying but they were good natured and even though their team did bugger all encouraged and cheered them on until the end. Considering some of the idiots I've sat near in the past they were a credit to their team.

| A steady workmanlike win. We managed improve our discipline which meant York had less attacking field position and looked like they would not score until Valentines Day. Our defence was strong until very late on when a couple of tackles were missed.
Made two good tries for Walmsley and held up a few times or the score might have been somewhat different.
All our props played well and Fairbank wanted to make up for lost time and imposed himself on the game.
Lannon looks strong and fits our style with decent hands. A good recruit.
The halves went a bit better without reaching the heights of last season. Perhaps the other teams have done more homework on them during the close season. Pickersgill looks safe but he aint` no Woody.
To infinity and beyond the Bulls.

| For me that was a poor game. York have got the excuse that they had lots of players missing but had a go for the full 80. I agreed with Lannon getting the man of the match he is awkward to put down and Jake and Lachlan were the other 2 positives for me as well as woodburn-hall getting plenty of ball. We do look short of confidence with the ball and why we try to go side to side before earning the right to doesn't help either because the space is just not there. For me we look way off where we were last season especially with the ball and this needs to change soon. This weeks game is a big one and we can not just think that Bradford not having any dr players in there side will get us the win. We really need to up our game.
