| Moore as in Gareth Moore? Surely he cannot return back to another club, again?
Can only see Tangata going to Super League.

| I'm sure I posted on here a couple of months ago that Richard Moore was signing for Fev. Although I may have resisted as the source that told me said it was a secret lol.
If we can't afford Sammut, then Summat is up!!!

Too many? Moores the pity.
I like so many it seems I have at last realised The RFL have totally messed up tgg. I have followed Fax since before 1964(too young to remember much before then but l loved running around), home and away most weeks since 1967 until summer rugby meant i missed more than i wished due to holidays etc. I saw Cawoods, saw the great win at Huyton, the Aussies and a couple of Wembley trips.
I have totally lost interest in this so called competition. How could anyone devise a Shield Competition where virtually everyone knew where they would finish before playing a game. Little wonder the speccies turn their back on this clap trap and the players find it hard to play with any desire.
Oh well let`s hope for three more wins, call an end to this season that promised much but .........

| More rumours on the terraces.
1. The south stand is shut next week to save money on the stewards.
2. The council want a further 3-4% increase on rent next year.
3. Possibility of playing from cougar park instead next year.
I have to admit whilst all this is flying about and the club not telling anyone anything about the arbitration, the south stand being closed and the rumours I can't see season ticket sales being very good at all. I won't be getting any until I know what the score is.

I would guess that 3. is nothing more than a gentle threat to try persuade the Council against an increase. I think moving the club away from Calderdale would be a huge disaster for the club (and local area).
We still seem to have issues with the Council not appreciating the value of having HRLFC and FCHT. Admittedly, finding the balance of what is a fair rent isnt straight forward but I would like to know what, if anything, the Council is doing to raise revenue from other sources rather than putting huge pressures on the clubs.
Last time I met with Council Leader Tim Swift, about the Shay, the East/South annex was supposedly going to be developed which would get rid of the eyesore and provide further revenue. I assume the third (I think) floor is still empty and nothing more than a shell - have they looked at what they are doing with the space or is it out of sight and out of mind? I appreciate that money is tight for all Council's but they need to be investing further in the facilities to make it more self-sustainable for the future.

| Well Bubba I'm in agreement with all what you've said above. The council need to speculate a bit to get the most out of the ground as well as realising that both clubs do bring something to the town and in that respect should be supported in their efforts. We all realise money is tight for all and asking the fans to go to Keighley is beyond a joke, they might as well play at Siddal as I'd say the crowds would so diminished it wouldn't be a problem fitting them in.

I'm not sure it would be, we really only need to accommodate about 2k supporters for the most part and that is not going to change any time quick as the public of Halifax are not really interested in local professional sport. The ground in its current state and how it is currently run just costs the club money that it really cant afford especially when compared to teams like Fev who actually make money off their ground.
I do fear for Halifax Town though as when we move out there is not a chance the council could stand the extra cost and there are no other teams in the area that could afford the rent so that only leaves bringing a few teams in and again it is not a goer because of the horrendous state of the pitch.

| Quite happy to move to Keigley, great chips, nice little bar, ample parking and a true Rugby League ground.
Let the sheite council and the Luddites have their way after all they keep telling us that Halifax is a football town.
What's it called? Fantasy Football.

| At the moment it takes me 10 minutes to get to the ground and I'm struggling to build any enthusiasm for that during this end of season nonsense so I doubt I'll be a able to bring myself to trek over to Lawkholme Lane.

You really dont think moving the club 13 miles down the road would make a difference? People support HRLFC because of the 'H' bit...Halifax. It is a club representing our town. The more casual supporter, who wakes up on a Sunday morning and decides to go to a match, may well not be bothered if they have to make more of an effort (and greater expense) to get there? It could well affect sponsorship too along with commercial income.
I am sure as well that 'with the ground in its current state' the Shay is still superior to Post Office Road. I would be interested to know what gross profit Fev make from their stadium, if anything. On the whole the Shay deal for the clubs isnt bad for what is included in the monthly rent.
