It may not even be an issue. I guess we may use some when fixtures get numerous in short space of time and or with injuries.

I'm not a lover of friendly matches, for the reason see today's result, not sure how much it is as a pointer to Fax but it's a runout and probably about it though as I said above it doesn't appear to show Rovers strength in depth. Though as Rich points out when the season is underway who knows what will happen to our squad and we may need some assistance at times.

Trial matches are good for the coaching team to have a look at players and combinations and assess fitness levels and for the players to get back into full blown contact etc. That's it really and I wouldn't read too much into the result to be honest as this stage. No. At a push I would take Welham if he couldnt get in their team but on todays performance we have no problem in the centre. We know what we are getting from Tyrer and Heaton was good in the first half and Taylor had an excellent game.
