Very well beaten by a very fit strong side. I think they'll give Warrington a decent game in the cup.

Some shocking refereeing decisions and errors in our own half didn't help. Though Toronto would have still won with ease. Any full-time team playing their A/A- game will beat a Part-time side.

Full time team costing well over 1 million, most teams don't stand a snowball in hell's chance of beating them. Sooner we get rid of them to Super league the better then the RFL will be happy.

Always going to be hard for us to compete against a full time side at the top of the salary cap like Toronto Checkbooks.
That said, the amount of errors and basic skill levels were shambolic for most of the game with a completion rate at an all time low.
At times it looked like the cities pro’s had asked the locals from the pub to come out and have a run around at dinner time.

So much this.

We didn't lose the game because Toronto spent more money than us, we lost the game because we made basic errors in the first 15 minutes that meant the game was already out of our reach. Something must be wrong with our prep as this is the 2nd time we have travelled long distance this season and in both games we were beat in the 1st 15 minutes because we still looked like we were in the changing rooms.

As faxcar says the first half was shambolic and no better than what is served up at amateur level most weekends. The second half, similar to Toulouse, we showed that we can compete but it also shows you can't spend the first 20 minutes of a game tackling and expect to get anything out of it.

Its not a game that will shape our season as I wouldnt expect many teams to beat Toronto from this point. Those games will come at the Bash and when we play Fev and Toulouse again at home. We are still very much in a decent position now we have got Toronto out of the way along with 2 tough away trips to Fev and Tolouse and if we win the reverse fixtures we should be there or there abouts. Leigh and London you really can't see us getting anything out which makes it vital we do not slip up against so called weaker teams.

Preparation may have been better if our coach had concentrated on his own team and not spent Friday night in Castleford.

Beaten by a better side on the day. Was definitely a lesson in how to play rugby at pace and tackle even harder. We just seem to struggle against the top sides and don't have the pace or flair to trouble these top teams I'm afraid.
It's where we are at and we just have to get back on the horse next week against Sheffield.
Charlie, my old friend, I have put the plans to invade Poland on ice for the moment!!!! icon_wink.gif
Hope the injuries to Tyrer/Murrell and Grix are not too serious.

You may or may not like what I say Hudds but to be honest RM at Cas on Friday night had nothing to do with the prep for the game that was taking place less than 24 hours later, if it hadn't been done earlier in the week then it was too late by then and using that just to have another pop at DR won't improve our away performances in the Capitol imho.

More importantly where were the lads between 6.30 and 8.10 on Saturday night, because they weren't at the game for large periods especially early on, that's for sure.

As GFB says it's not the first time when going to London, we perform so poorly that not only do we not win, we don't even get close to have a chance of winning and that's not a reflection of Fax overall as a team.

Something must be wrong in the build up, it's not a critical dig, it's the truth and needs to be looked at if at all possible with the constraints of having a part time squad who have varied secular work commitments etc.

I'm assuming they travelled down in the morning. Quite a common phenomenon, being stuck on a Coach for 6 hours and trying to shake off the travel sickness.

Yep, not the best build up sitting for hours on the coach and we all know how you feel after one of those trips, hardly in the best condition for going up against a team as big and good as TW can be but going down the day before might not be an option with the work commitments I was referring to.
It will interesting to see what RM thinking is on it.

Very pleased to see on to rm engaging with DP etc. It can only be good for long term professional development . If he learns a couple of nuggets it can only be good . Those that want to remain in little Halifax mentality need their eyes and ears opening because we haven't done much on our own now for many a year. Embrace change and never loose ambition. Our last Bod forgot both and they are now gone.

Charlie, my old friend, I have put the plans to invade Poland on ice for the moment!!!! Dave, I thought Fax did ok once they adapted to the way Toronto play, don't be to downbeat, plenty of water under the bridge yet, we played as if Jukesy had returned for 70 minites today, till our fitness won the game , the score was very flattering to Leigh.

As for Poland , my daughter Kell go there next month, very apt.Hope to see you soon. icon_thumb.gif
