Quote: Fax Machine "Minor point perhaps but you would think that the club could at least make the effort to correct the attendance on it's own website. To the uninformed casual observer 300 looks appalling!'"

I think that's next weeks crowd icon_smile.gif

People always seem to forget that the "quality" players in Calland's teams didn't always come to the club as quality players. They were coached up to become those players. For all his failings Calland was a great individual skills coach. Harrison seems to be doing the opposite.

Ross Divorty is a great example.Came as ball playing loose forward and hit great lines from Murrell
at times last year.Seems to have been converted to a prop only this season...what a waste.

Go through the team and see who has improved.......

Fieldhouse - Bags of talent, scores tries for fun and at one point looked to be about the 2nd best FB in the league behind QLT. Now gets dropped every other week and looks short of confidence.

Worrincy - Bags of talent, scores tries for fun, looked to be up there with the best wingers in the league. Rough around the edges and needs some good coaching to make him the finished article, instead gets dropped every other week and looks short of confidence.

Tyrer - Had a few clubs but clearly has talent but another one who was dropped last season for any little mistake resulting in him looking short of confidence. Has started the season on fire i would assume to Harrisons disappointment having brought in Cowling to replace him.

Heaton - Probably one of a few players who might have improved but has some obvious failings that i feel a good coach would iron out, like a centre who struggles to pass, yes coaching team thats down to you to work on.

Murrell - Looked the best player in the league early last season, like has been said certainly is getting nowhere near that level since his injury last season.

Tonks - Another he seems to have gone stale, yeah he produces every week but I feel he can do a lot better but only giving him 13 minutes isnt enough, he can do more than that.

Ambler - Started well when he came here but seems to be going backwards at a steady pace, consistant again but could be so much better.

Manning - I feel would be the best second row in the comp under a coach who knew how to get the best out of him. At times he is simply awesome and one of a handful of players who i feel with the right coaching could play SL.

Divorty - Has been mentioned but another who has the talent and hasnt kicked on.

Adamson - The penalty machine. Looked quality once he settled but has now turned in to your ten a penny second row.

Theres others I could mention like Johnson who looked a totally different player yesterday to the one at Fev almost as though he had been told not to take on the line. I understand its hard when players are part time but I feel the coaching staff are failing to get the best out of a group of players who with a bit of a push could easily be turned in to a top 2 team.

Yes but do Batley play like that every week?
(Don't know as I don't watch them every week)

Quote: Fax Machine "What he needs to do, in my opinion, is to decide on his best 17 and stick with them so that they get used to playing together. Changes should then only be made when forced upon him due to injuries etc . We may then gain some consistency. Halfbacks need to build a partnership as do wingers/centres who develop an instinct for where their partners will be at any given time. How the hell can they do this when it's like Harrisons Musical Chairs every week?'"
This has been said many times.

I wasn't at the game on Sunday but I've spoke to people that were and they've basically said exactly what the majority have said on here.

People are being driven away from the lack of quality they see on the pitch.
I know we were blessed with some of the players that were in the GF squad but i'm sure the talent is out there somewhere.

We have a very mediocre squad this year but i'm hoping and get the fire back from a few years ago.

When Calland/Hall was in charge does anyone remember walking past the old changing rooms in the corner of the south stand and listening to all the players singing 'fax on fire'..... We need that spark and buzz back at the club. I dread to think what atmosphere is in the changing rooms these days.

If Rob Worrincy isn't back in the squad when he's fit, i think i'll give up coming to the games. Yes hes got his areas of weakness however that bloke can change a game single handedly. He runs harder than some of our forwards and can score trys that the likes of Sam Tomkins would be proud of.

That is all.

They did in the recent friendly but as for every week me neither.

We looked better against Fev because they looked to attack and in doing so gave us more room to do the same.

The point I was making was that the type and tempo of the game involves both sides and the ref.

Batley's game plan was to man up in defence by commiting bodies into the tackle and slow the play the ball down and wait for us to make a mistake John Kear said as much in the post match interview and largely the man in the middle let it happen, combine that with a short ten and you aren't going to get an open game.

Nil nil at half time says it all and it wasn't just down to Fax.

That's where we need to come up with something that will force the refs hand if we can, somewhere in the collision we need to try and avoid going to ground and get a quicker play the ball as a platform to get the attacking play we are after.

Throwing the ball out or around with no platform to do it from will have us keeping company with one another underneath our posts.

What is gone in previous seasons is gone KH said that this year we would try and play a more expansive game, we did against Cas, we did against Fev and had them rocking for a while but on Sunday we had little chance to do so but did have good field position only to put the ball down early in our attacking sets on a number of occasions.

It maybe a big ask to forget about last year and stick with it for a while longer but that's what I will do.
If some more choose to stop going I understand why but not me.

It's only just begun and there will be a lot of twists and turns yet that's for sure.

I can see the pressure / frustration each section is under.

A massive year for the club because of the structure change.

The BOD and "Friends" investing heavily for the campaign Knowing how important it is and Knowing the coach is not the favourite of the month.

KH selling his buisness interests to take on the job full time Knowing how some of the supporters feel.

The players aware of the importance of the season Knowing that they have been written off by many.

Not the perfect start, even so.

None of the above thinks it's over.

And us Knowing all the above, are we going to walk away??????????

To be honest it's not so much the results as the poor excuses for it, we've shipped points in the final quarter of 3 games and all we get I'd ' we were unlucky'. No we were poor now get over it and start playing some rugby that will bring in the crowds.
