Personally, I think you may be wrong with the final one. I think that the RFL needs Toulouse to hang in there, so that they can award them with a franchise, to prove how good they are!

Yes there are ' issues ' with certain clubs , but as long as we still consider ourselves a sport , then the rules are there at the start and everyclub should abide by them

I prefer leigh stay up for the derbies and away support.Fed up of too many aussies at gateshead and we need a strong competitive halifax,widnes and leigh next year.Yes i not like leigh but it all banter and bring decent support not like gateshead aussies.Will they lose their visas?

This has relit my faith in what this board was about,arguing,banter with the odd nutter now and again..Nasty comments have no place on here,we should all be RL fans who love our clubs but realize at the end of the day we are all in the same boat.

You are right. Just sad that on many occasions (e.g. franchises) Rugby League cannot follow its own rules when it does not suit the power bloc.

I wouldn't mind Gateshead trading places with Keighley. We'd almost have a local derby then! (and they don't moan as much)

i want leigh to stay up because like people have said they bring some fans to the shay.

at the same time though they stay up thats another challenger for the franchise place.

if they go down they wont have enough time to tick enough boxes.

That's what I was thinking but, on the other hand, I would like to see us back to our awesome, early season form.

Tell you what, Barrow's ground might be old and tired, but it's a damn sight more attractive and suitable to RL, than Gateshead's. Theirs too is 'tired', with cover on just one side, (compared with barrow's four) with a pitch about 80 mtrs long (under the RFL limit), with an in-goal area of less than 6 mtrs. (under the RFL limit) There are that many clearly visible markings - football, athletics field events, and even RL (!) that everyone on the pitch, and in the 'crowd' must be confused. Add to that, the 'throwing cage' at one end of the ground, and the goal posts must be nigh-on invisible, from the pitch. They've even got too many Aussies for SL!

I was in the opposite stand with no roof at Gateshead with City the other day,

sad times...

Tho 50 of us jumped the fence an celebrated on the athletics track so it was put to some use

And proud of it!

Must admit, I'd be saying much the same if boot was on t'other foot.

That said, always enjoy playing 'Fax and bumping in to a few familiar faces. Manage to bribe a babysitter to look after my lad from half 2 until 5 on Monday - might be painful viewing when sober!
