He should be banned until Ropati makes a return to action, it was a deliberate assault. If it had happened out in Civvy street he may be looking at more serious punishment I.M.O.

Only just watched it. It was a discraceful and deliberate attack on a fellow player. I don't know what else to say - most high tackles have an element of laziness and bad technique about them, but that one looked like he meant to do it. Awful.

Just seen it, thanks to all who told me where to find it. Disgraceful, I am not usually in favour of it but, on this occassion I think the police should be informed. It's an act of violence which has no place on the streets let alone a Rugby pitch.

I've watched the 'challenge' a few times and, whilst my eyesight isn't what it was, I can't see Chase's [sizeshoulder[/size making contact. Ian millward says it was his shoulder, Chase says it was his shoulder, but to me it looked a bit lower on Chase's arm! One thing Ian Millward got right was that Ropati was probably looking to get to the floor quickly. Chase certainly helped him with that one!

The 'Disciplinary' say that it was so bad, that they considered giving him more than the recoomended three match ban - but then copped out!

IMO he should be suspended until Ropati comes back - and pay his wages in the meantime!

Would be interesting to see where Ropati stood from a legal point of view regarding compensation (not getting the police involved or such pish like that). At the end of the day, and without wanting to sound like a daytime tv ad, he's been put out of work, at work by something deemed illegal within it. Just because it's rugby it doesn't make it all right and just 'part of it'.

No it's illegal within the game but then again so is a fist fight but you wouldn't start getting the police involved in that everytime.
