Question is, if Liam is number 7 and we are signing 10, who from the rumoured Wood, Jouffret, Douglas and Arundel is the odd one out with Wood being confirmed a deffo by Terry.
Unless it’s now 11 incoming?

Tbh I’ve heard they’re all still coming so might be a bonus , I can’t imagine him being on massive wages and it gives a good bit of competition in them areas , also the lads very popular and from siddal , he’s got the most engagements on social media than all are new signings and like Grix said it might bring more fans in and makes other players coming through the ranks at siddal view Halifax as a viable option , great work in the community from Grix and co .

Good signing, heard really good things about him from Siddal and its not a bad idea to have another local lad in the squad. His chances are going to be few and far between so he probably knows the work that is ahead of him to get the coaching staff thinking so he is obviously backing himself and it never hurts to have someone in the suad who is willing to work that hard.

Of the signings mentioned above the only one Ive not really heard anything concrete about is Douglas but having watched him in the play off games he looks to have improved massively since he left us and he looks like a player that you really want on your team the grit he showed limping his way through the Keighley game while still been one of the best on the pitch.

Welcome Liam couldn't agree more with the above posts this signing sends the message to other local players that there is a chance for you at Halifax and there is more to rugby then just super league. As for the number of signings i think it will be more then 10 and there could always be some loan deals too.

There's nowt funny about that. It could put some clubs in serious financial jeopardy if they haven't done their sums right. Another typical rugby league cock up! It's never ending.

I’ll take a guess at deciphering it all to be 3 more to come in with one of them being an alternative to Douglas who we wanted but couldn’t get over the line for whatever reason.

Funny, definitely not but it’s just an expression of speech as in funny peculiar as opposed to funny hilarious.
On the one hand we call for ambition then on the other worry about the consequences when the spending goes up.
In any case, regardless of the make up of the comp if any club can’t calculate the implications and goes for boom or bust when there is just one place up for grabs with the history of how that can work out, the history of how SL and the RFL can change the rules at a minutes notice and the strength of the opposition then there’s only themselves to blame.

Yes it was more an ironic funny than a ha ha funny , clubs have spent loads of money now we’ve changed the goal posts and for the league below we know everyone has had there budget cut but we’re gonna throw in 18 hour round trip in there down to Cornwall just because we’ll you know we’re the rfl and we like to do stupid things every now and then .

Im just glad for once that we are able to put together a team that at least gives us hope of a chance of a return to SL. I still see Fev as the best team in the league but there is no reason with the team we have put together we can't be somewhere near and target a grand final place.

I agree , I think we’ve upgraded our halves in terms of game management and short kicking game and bolstered our pack which really did show towards the back end of the season, we now have a nice blend of youth and experience. Grix is keen on players who follow a game plan , many times last season we got into winning positions and started being silly with the ball , hopefully with the new players joining that ll be cut down to a minimum.
