That'll teach us not to sign wingers from Fev!

Bizarre game. Far too complacent and poor defensive show. I don't get how we can hold Bradford and fev to so few and then let in 38??

Yep agree about Sharp very poor signing for me. If Salty or Saxton was was on the wing we would have won. Don't understand why Marshall swapped Ecclestone and Sharp around. And even more puzzled when it clearly wasn't working why he didn't change it back or at least change sharps wing, maybe put Manning into centre and move Smeaton out wide, I mean for goodness sake how many tries down one wing does it take to realise we have a defence problem

What have you done to Will Sharp? Last year you'd have bet your mortgage on him being solid in defence and generally giving 5000% every game.

Feel free to send him back, he quite obviously isn't happy there

Will Sharp was arguably the best winger in the Championship - certainly in the top three - over the last three years, and you wouldn't have found a Fev fan who wasn't disappointed when he left us. Don't know what has happened at Fax to affect him, whether it's the coaching or man-management or something else, but there's something not right there because he's a quality player.

Ouch that hurt as we cannot argue the better team (their enthusiasm) won as they scored 8 tries to our 6 and missed 5 kicks otherwise it would have been 48-37 if both had kicked all their goals (we only missed one).
WTF happened?
Their winning try was so easy quick hands shipped the ball left and over they go to win the game, our right wing has been a problem all season we need to sort it and sadly Will Sharp is just not happening is he? We started off like knife through butter it was easy but yet again unenforced errors - a knock on and two forward passes cost us and gave them field position, we must cut them out, also yet again another ball knock down cost us can't the players get it into their heads that all it does is give the opposition the ball for another 6 tackles!
feel very down after that a poor crowd with not much atmosphere and a bad defeat.
As somebody said we are not as good as we think we are.
Feel down about that as after two terrific victories that has put us back a long way, top 4 is not looking likely on that performance some players just went missing, where was Gaz Moore today and Adam did not come off today either.
Hey ho we need to forget about it and get back on track against Dewsbury.

I know the whole team were not great but I think the blame has to be layed at the feet of sharp. He needs to bend his back. He let the ball roll from the field of play into the goal area then f..ked up making it go dead. Why not pick it up in the field of play and run with it. a026.gif Very very poor today. Well done Swinton.

A moment that summed up Sharp's season was when Swinton had that penalty to win the game and their player missed the kick, Sharp looked like he purposely put his foot on the line to make sure the ball was dead. In doing so it meant a 20 Metre drop out where as if he just catches the ball it would have been play on and we probably see the game out. He has been poor but the right side defence on the whole was poor and Im not sure Swinton would have got as much change out of Ben Heaton & Salty.

I liked will sharpe, but was far more disappointed about Jy Hitchox leaving fev last season. I posted on here that Fax had signed the wrong Winger. Shame for us last season that Andy Hay decided to play JY at full back for most the season where he was useless.

Sometimes it simply up to the player to perform and when he has had the chance he hasnt. Dont worry though he is not alone in that for us this season. We have been getting by on the fact that we have a very good set of players but when you have so many players out of form eventually you come a cropper. You can afford to do that against Leigh, Bradford, and maybe London and a few other teams away from home but do it against Swinton at home and it makes the task so much more difficult. We are lucky this season that other than Leigh the rest of the teams will beat each other so we might at a push get near the top 4 but on what has happened so far this season it will be more on luck than good judgement because we have been nowhere near as good as we were last season.

In total shock after being out enthused by a team that was near to the bottom of the league.Swinton deserved their victory as they played a simple game plan well. Just keep making too many errors and today our defence didn't back it up. In fact it was woeful. Our defensive line speed was slow and our right edge just looked a soft touch which, credit to Swinton, they totally exposed. Unfortunately our coaching team didn't alter other than switching Tangata and Manning over. I think Will Sharpe is a good player but he isn't doing it for us I'm afraid(shades of Alex Brown last year) I expect Salty/Tommy/Potts will now be ahead of him. To be fair wasn't down to one man- too many of our influential players just didn't turn up today. Maybe the coaching team might think about using the whole squad going forward after such an intense Easter period-we looked mentally and physicaly jaded today. Well done Swinton.

World class for 12 minutes, 2nd (or 3rd/4th/5th etc - take your pick) class for the last 68 minutes. As has been mentioned, it's a good job Swintons kicker left his boots at home or it could have been far worse. On the plus side, at least it didn't rain!!
One question though. Do we need to get some brown 'football pitch markings cover upperer'? Swinton were hard done by when they had to drop out due to the linesmans mistake - it could be our turn next
