| Will the group of fans that have taken a dislike to Handforth please get a grip!!!!
There was even some anti Tiger chanting at the game yesterday.
Utterly pathetic and anyone with a shred of rugby league knowledge can see what he brings to the team.

| People have their opinions so dont get your knickers in a twist. Im sure he isn't going home crying himself to sleep at night.
I admit that i have not really been impressed with Handforth but i think he has come good at the back end of the season. That may be because I had very high expectations.
What do you mean anti tiger chants?

| If true that is poor, we need to get behind the team not crucify them. He created the majority of lastnights tries, what more do people want? I don't mind a bit of construcuctive criticism but it should stop there.

| Whilst he did a couple of good things last night there were also a number of poor ones. Thought his last kick options were straight down the throat of Barnett and his kicking was one of the things I was hoping would improve when we signed him.
As above, I do not think he has played as well as I expected, but that's just my opinion.
Didn't hear any chanting though.

| I didn't hear the chanting either, he's certainly pulled us outta the doo-doo a couple of times. Sheffield at home very late in the game & last night he put two neat passes in for us to score the first & second tries i think. Not a bad effort to play two massive games in five days after spending *allegedly* ( according to rhino ) four days in hospital on a drip last week.
Stay patient.

| He's a very decent half-back, and some of what he does goes unseen if you're not looking. Sometimes his kicking let's him down, and he needs to find the knack of making sure the ball hits the ground more often rather than down the throat of the opposition. The odd attempt at a 40-20 (a la Bob Beswick) wouldn't go amiss either. Wish he'd take on the line a little more often as well - when he gets into this mindset, he's shown that he's very capable, so a little frustrating that he doesn't trust his ability more often!
The key thing for me though, is that the two half-backs don't yet seem to have sorted themselves out as a partnership. If Thacks and Handforth could really gel together (they have very different skills) then they could be truly awesome in this division as a pair - much more than the sum of each of them individually.

After last nights game, Karl refered to this, his opinion was that those who don't appreciate Tiger don't really understand what he brings to the team.

| In my very humble opinion, Tiger will make a great 9 next year. I'd like to see Thackers & Finn at 6&7 with Tiger & Ashall rotating 9. Actually, I'd love to see Penky there but I think after all the same off season crap, he will actually go to Leigh this time.

| Tiger is one of those players who can blow hot or cold in the same game. When he's not doing the business it's noticed but when he is in the right frame of mind is a very good player and can easily change a game. A frustrating player at times but a lot of fans would rather have him in their team than playing against them

Spot on, I am one of those who has not been impressed by both our half backs and still feel we need a good one for next season if we are to push Fev off their perch at the top.
But Tiger has won us lots of games this season and is a trier, its Thacks that is the bigger disappointment but then you look at how many tries he has scored!

| Again Handforth was the difference, creating 4 of the 5 tries. Thackeray really has come on in my opinion, the only thing lacking is that is a touch of creativity. General play kicking, distribution, tackling. You couldn't fault his energy or desire last night, absolutely fantastic if you ask me!

| Tiger has come on a lot in the past month or so. im Ok with his form, his long passes are good, hes our best kicker, its time to back him for the rest of the season, hes not the fastest but he reads the game well and come the big games he comes up with big plays. Like him or not, maybe his best days are behind him but hes doing a job for us.

| It's pretty clear that a lot more people than you'd be led to believe actually see what handforth brings to the team.
Harrison signed him because he knew better than anyone what he is all about. He was never going to be the fast, crowd pleasing, side stepping half back that black was. A lot of the abuse he cops is unjust and a little naive.
His defence is solid, he is our best kicker, best reader of the game and if you watch closely enough you'll see he is the guy in charge on the pitch. This is why Karl trusts him and brought him over.
It's worth mentioning that handforth has, even when being slated, won us a lot of close games, including keighley. Sheffield at home, with the chip and break for Thacks to score, switching to hooker when Penky went off against swinton I think when he ripped them apart, and basically ripping the ball away from Penky in the challenge cup with thirty seconds left, taking the penalty to ensure extra time, fair dos, we lost that one but he got us the draw and chance of extra time.
Plenty more examples, the problem handforth faces is not being the stand out crowd hero that many half backs are. He is a solid, reliable player, and maybe cops a little unfair treatment sometimes. I'd guess he's used to it tho and just takes it as part of the job.
All I know is we have at least one, and hopefully three big knock out matches left. I believe we have more chance of winning them with him than without him so that's enough of a reason for me to back the lad.
