The weak conform, the strong survive.: |
|
| Featherstone Rovers are offering Season Ticket holders at all Super League, Championship and Championship One clubs the chance to gain entry to any Rovers’ home game throughout the season for just £10, with every ticket holder also eligible to bring a child along for free.
In an unprecedented step, Featherstone are offering £5 off their standard ticket price on production of a any valid 2012 season ticket pass and allowing every season ticket holder the opportunity to bring a child along for free.
“This price buster offer is great deal for people who want to watch great Rugby League at a friendly club,” said Featherstone Commercial Manager Paul Taylor.
“The club is playing some fine Rugby currently with Daryl Powell doing an excellent job in charge, but we are also aware of the importance fans play in the game and we want to encourage more people to come down to watch a great standard of Rugby League at the club which is at the heart of the local community.”
The Rovers will have a designated turnstile allocated for fans from other clubs to gain entry to the stadium and to take advantage of the offer all you need to do is bring your current season ticket to the ground and stewards will direct you to the designated parking area and turnstile.
The offer is also available to Concession Season Ticket holders at all Super League, Championship and Championship One clubs where entrance to the ground is £6 (normal price £9).

| so let me get this straight!
Fev are offering fans from Cas, Wakey, Leeds, Batley, Dewsbury and the rest of teams geographically local to fev,
"turn up with your season ticket from your club and your in for a £10er?!"
i may be wrong but do Fev not play their home games on sunday afternoons?! the same day as all the other teams?!
i just cant see a leeds season ticket holder for example who has payed x amount of money for the south stand at headingley deciding to go and watch Fev instead?!
they are clearly aiming at the few times a season where local teams around Fev play on a friday or sat, and may decide to want to watch another live game?!!
cant see it making much/any difference to fevs annual average though.

| As far as SL clubs go though, at least half the games rather than being on a Sunday are played on Friday, Saturday and at some point Monday.
Worth a try in my opinion. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

| Noticed on the Fev Website earlier that demand for the DVD of the game from sunday is that high that they're going to have a showing of the game at the Big Fellas this week.

In your eagerness to pick your missing the main point. When YOUR team play fev YOUR season ticket holders will get in for a reduced rate.
As for SL teams I think it is aimed at when they are playing away.
The idea is it to boost away support, and secondary to that are neutrals.

| Thanks for the feedback. Its aimed at all clubs and we will see how we go. For example, Wakefield play away at the same time at Hull FC this weekend. A trip out to Hull FC may be out of the question for some fans so we are offering them an alternative.
Hopefully other clubs will do the same and our season ticket holders benefit (such as Batley are going to return the favour), it may help with season ticket sales next year.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| It works if you own your stadium and can make a couple of extra quid on food and drink, in situations like at Leigh were you pay a % of gate money for costs and dont get any other income from sales it doesn't really work

I called to get my copy on Tuesday and there had been a steady stream of folk at the office all day buying the dvd. At a fiver a time the club will have done well out of Sunday's match.

| I think this is a good idea, so well done to fev for trying something different, all clubs in the championship should look at this idea.
For example, if only 50% of fev season ticket holders took this offer up at Batley, Batley would be certain of a min of 500 fev fans turning up, which even at say a 10 tenner a time would be great for them or for any other club who decided to started to market the same offer

| Quote: Nigel Fax "I see Leigh have now decided to do this offer,
at doing this,'"
Being the operative word , jumping in with both feet being what it seems we have done
It works for Fev , firstly , they are now playing the ' Tick the box ' game , remember your ' massive crowd ' ?
They will most likely make a few extra quid on beer/food sales
They aren't paying a % per person rental
I worked it out that Leigh would actually recieve around £ 6.80 for every adult taking up this offer , personally I dont like it , I'd prefer to offer free travel on specific games with specific controls , and for that to be recipricated by both clubs
Shall we say you decided to copy the deal , would some of your own ' fans ' be tempted to borrow a Bulls ST to save a few quid ?
