was talking to sam barlow down at the gym this morning and he assured me that iain morrison and tony tonks have signed on for next season. what a pack we are going to have!!

That's cobblers on both counts. That's not to say they won't sign, but neither has yet.

Obviously any announcement on fev players should be left till after the
GF.Why have a rule that allows clubs to sign players for next year at this stage
anyway.Its damaging the playoff series pointlessly.theres plenty of time between oct-feb to sort squads.

Morrison Is a good player but seems to be on the side lines injured more than on the field so Fev wouldn't miss him it would just release alot of money As for Tonks excellent player that will probably be in S/L next season if rumours are true With out getting into a slagging match why would he want to leave his local club who are doing very well at the moment to play for Halifax The only reason I can see that is that Halifax have offered him alot more money that he cannot refuse For now we will all have to wait and see but if he does come to you you will have the nest prop in our league in my opinion

No don't worry only joking, I understand where you're coming from. It's same reason we're all a bit unwilling to accept that Maloney rumour. IF he is returning to England and not going to Super League, i'm almost certain we'd be his first choice because he's familiar with the club and the players etc. And like I said on another post, I'd be amazed if we hadn't offered him something if we knew of his return.

But like you basically said, money talks...

Morrison is a fabulous player when fit. One of the league best. BUT - he's made of bone china!
Tonka - well you all know my feelings on him by now.

Tonka certainly hasn't signed owt yet. Morro, well hadn't at last info I had but that could have changed at the stroke of a pen.
Keep him fit he's a good un, but as widnes and us found out - he was a very highly paid water carrier!!

In the unlikely event of Tonks signing, how on earth would we be under the cap? We must be heading towards it with the signings we've already made?

I think there is a general acceptance amongst many of the players that there is less money about and that many are being paid much less than lets say 2 - 3 years ago.

Oh yes ... he won't come "cheep".
