I am predicting a fax win however we must improve massively from the York game against a team that is just as desperate to win as they was on a narrow pitch.

I just can't see us turning up tomorrow. They have everything to play for - we have nothing to play for.

So I'd go for Huns by 10.

As I have said before, I do not believe this "if players turn up"
Sometimes things just don't go right.
If you had seen the faces on them after losing in Toulouse you would have known that they had tried their hardest and it was simply "a bad day at the office" There was no lack of effort and they knew they had let us down.
As an amateur sportsman I never entered the firld of play not wanting to win. I do not doubt that Fax will want to win on Sunday.

I agree with halifaxjohn. If a player doesnt 'turn up' not only are they are more likely to get injured they could also lose out on a decent contract for next season either with us or another team.

i don't go in for match predictions, as they are pretty pointless, nobody comes back afterwards and measures any kind of performance and in 99% of cases Halifax fans go for a halifax win, however i do submit to the ethos that it at least gives us something to do pre match!

However that mini rant is not the reason for my post!

My real reason is my match prediction, not the score, but the Hunslet players or two in particular, Messers March!

Prediction, lying on, gamesmanship, ref bating, looking fo fights, dirty tactics, and genneral discrace to two once half decnt RL pro's!

Afterthought - maybe next season we could keep a leauge table for match predictions for fax fans, see who really does know there stuff, a simple spread sheet could be divised, and points awarded for closeness of score! a bit of a fantasy leage for score predictions, a small entry fee, with a prize at the end, proceeds going to the fax builder squad! there you go Sid Scoop you can have that one for free, would take a minimum amount of effort, but could raise a few quid! and provide some entertainment each week for the fans on here!

I expect us to struggle to get into any rythm against Huns on their own park, they'll try to slow us down & stop us getting a roll-on in the middle where we undo sides.
The timing of a few things will be crucial to how we go into the knockout game/s:

The poor performance last time out.
The return on matchday of our stand-in coach.
The possibility of a quick turnaround for thursday.
The return of a couple of some of our players from injury, but for me the most important is the return of Jacob Fairbank to the side. His selection will kick a few of our forwards up the backside with regards to future match/es team selections I feel.
Well done to Bally for managing to negotiate him back into our resources. I'm sure I saw his name down for Elland in the League Express a couple of weeks ago, I'm not sure of the politics involved there or indeed if it's actually correct but I reckon Bally might have just pulled off a little masterstroke with this move.
Anyone going to the game today expecting it to be pretty had better change their opinion before setting off, especially with Laughton reffing.
