Good afternoon to all Fax Fans! I am Vice Chair of the Halifax Supporters Trust and we have recently partnered with The Old Post Office (used to be The Bowling Green) as our match day pub. The pub is found on Winding Road at the rear of the Bus Station and there is room for a number of cars to park at the side of the pub. Inside you will find a great size pub, a very warm welcome, pool table etc and bottled and draught beers including guest and real ales. The pub is children friendly and offers a great environment for all. The owners are Fax Fans but want the pub to become a base for any RL fans and we at The Supporters Trust are eager to help them in any way we can! The pub is about a 10-15 min walk max to the Shay ground.
On a Sunday they offer a home cooked Sunday Roast for the superb price of £5 for any fan attending the match and wearing their club colours.
We want this pub to enable fans to mix together and socialise both before and after the game and it will ensure the RL world continues to show the sporting world what gamesmanship is all about! The lads have promised to offer deals on drinks to all fans too.
Please seek the pub out and if you do let the lads know The Supporters Trust have pointed you in their direction. I hope you try the pub out and do leave us feedback on the Fax forum. Thanks

Sounds like a great opportunity for the fans to drop in for some food or a drink before the game. Its difficult for all businesses these days, especially pubs. So come on guys and gals get in for some match day support for our local pubs who are prepared to back our club.

We have been in the old post office a couple of times and what a great pub it is would be great to see more fans in there. I am tempted by a roast tomorrow

Thanks Chris for the plug but this one is for the Post Office. Its vitally important for the club if local businesses are in a position to help out but its also a great bonus when support is reciprocated by the club. Good luck to the Post Office!

The Old Post Office is a quality pub. It's a great place to start on a night out too. Having written that, we [iintended[/i to start there, but we stayed all night!

Went along to the Old Post Office on Sunday for the first time. I would recommend it to all Fax Fans - The food was great and fantastic value, there was a warm atmosphere from the staff and of course all of the other Fax Fans in there too. There was a brilliant selection of ales too. This will now become a regular fixture on matchdays for me!

Visited The Old Post Office for the first time on Sunday. Excellent sunday dinner (£5) washed down with a bottle of Pinot Grigio (£7!) reasonable beer prices and a complimentary Sambucca for wearing my Fax shirt.

So, to recap, pint of 1664, Sambucca, dinner and a bottle of wine - Total = around £15.

Then they wonder why the Shay is losing money.

Yup, first time in the Old Post Office for me, my son and gf and nearly daughter.

Great food, great company and, get this.... PINK cider!

Superb way to start the afternoon. Recommended to all.
